I've been to and through Marquette many times and I've never thought of it as especially beautiful. I've never been to Pentwater or the Sleeping Bear dunes. I have driven past the dunes along US 2 heading west from St. Ignace, and those were pretty neat. But for sheer beauty, I would suggest the drive along US 41 going up to Copper Harbor in the Fall; the leaves made me think of Tolkien's description of the mallorn trees in Lothlorien. 94 between Munising and Manistique is a nice drive. Kitch-iti-kipi spring is a cool thing to check out as well.
And when you get to Munising you can take the tour of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Grand Marais Minnesota is on the list but Grand Marais Michigan is just as good with things like Grand Sable lake, dunes, falls etc nearby.https://www.google.com/search?q=pictured+rocks&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwiq_9Cjxr7TAhXHg1QKHcPhAXIQ_AUIBygC&biw=1118&bih=697&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=grand+sable+lake
