This is apparently from an Anonymous source from inside the Berkley PD - and while it may never be confirmed, I certainly would believe this is exactly what has gone down there given what we have seen.  It's how Communist/Leftist scum operate.

From an anon tweet:

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Actually its simple.

They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't.

Sometimes you have to do the right thing even knowing that it will hurt.

I totally believe this.  In fact, you could see it on some of the cops' faces that they were pissed off and frustrated at not being allowed to do their damned jobs.  I saw a video of a documenter of the event try to interview two cops on the scene about why they were standing down.  They basically said their hands were tied.

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

Did no one else notice that "Berkeley" was misspelled twice in this message?  I wouldn't be surprised if it's broadly accurate, but that misspelling makes its authenticity questionable, I think.
My political philosophy:

1) I'm not bothering anybody.
2) It's none of your business.
3) Leave me alone!

Yeah. If I ever had the opinion that this is probably (or maybe not) fake but accurate, this would be it.

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen btw. If the local government will not protect Trump supporter's basic civil rights, they can sue.

I believe there is still an ongoing lawsuit from what happened in San Jose last year.

I'm assuming the gist of the story is true based on what I've read elsewhere.  If so, we've seen this all before - those at the top in effect becoming vigilantes.

When retaliation comes, and it will come, those within the vigilante government will try to shift the blame away from themselves.

Yup. I doubt the authenticity but not the veracity.

So unconfirmed, anonymous tweets are now national news?

Caution is advisable.

People are mad, looking for a reason the police did not defend pro-trump rally goers.

There is a pile of Liberals in local government who would make a handy scapegoat.

Take anger, add mob, go from there, but in the end it would play into the mass media meme about Trump supporters, alt-right, etc.

I am with Reagan on this one: "Trust, but verify."

It is an explanation, of questionable source.
It is what angry people are willing to believe.
It foments anger, toward the Antifa crowd and the police Brass and civil government all at the same time, yet keeps the line officers out of the loop.
A lot of ugly outcomes could be considered to be 'justifiable' if this is true, and it need not be true, only believed for them to happen.

Good thing it wasn't in Albuquerque or Schenectady.   :tongue2:

Fake but accurate?
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

Probably. But considering that arrests were made of the folks defending against Antifa, I would not assume any sympathy on the part of police.

And, isn't it a fact that the police did nothing to stop the violence and stood by?

That's my understanding but it's hard to say for sure because of the sketchy reports from the sketchy media.
