Nope. Only the least worst side.Best case (if "best" even belongs in this conversation) is that Assad goes, some sort of interim Syrian military government with "acceptable" rebel participation takes over, and the war against ISIS and the jihadis is brought to a bloody conclusion.

"Warning" could mean a lot of things, and I'd guess that the timing of the warning would have been close enough to strikes so that no effective evacuations were possible.

The Obama administration created ISIS!
Well, just for a few seconds..
ISIS goes back to the 1950s. Their roots are the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party of Syria. Very complicated. They have been trying to start up a caliphate for decades. Yes, Obama fertilized them but he also bombed them. By leaving a vacuum in Iraq, he created the situation where the old dying party was able to kickstart itself back up, but this war has been going on for a long time. They play out their games far longer than our election cycles.
