Trump: I won’t seek Comey’s resignation
By Mark Hensch - 04/12/17 09:02 AM EDT

President Trump says he will not request FBI Director James Comey’s resignation, even though the FBI is investigating Trump's potential ties to Russia.

“No, it’s not too late,” Trump said Wednesday on Fox Business when asked about seeking Comey’s resignation.

“I want to give everybody a good, fair chance. We’ll see what happens. It’s going to be interesting.”

The FBI director revealed last month that his agency is probing Russian interference in the 2016 election, including possible collusion between Moscow and Trump’s campaign.

I think Comey has been given more than a good fair chance and he needs to go.  Drain the swamp!

Comey has shown who he is.  And, he is someone who needs to, at a minimum, go.

Exactly.  My question is what is the real reason Trump is keeping him?

Pres. Trump Goes After Comey: 'He Saved Hillary Clinton's Life'

Says surveillance by Obama admin was political.

   Apr 12, 2017 // 10:06am

President Donald Trump said he has "confidence" in James Comey, but criticized the FBI director for "saving Hillary Clinton's life" by not recommending charges over her use of a private email server as secretary of state.

In an interview on Fox Business Network, Maria Bartiromo asked Trump about so many Obama administration holdovers still serving in the government.

"Was it a mistake not to ask James Comey to step down?" she asked.

Trump said "it's not too late" to do that, but said he has "confidence" in Comey, who is investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 election and possible coordination between Russia and members of Trump's campaign.

"Remember: he saved Hillary Clinton. He saved her life," said Trump, adding that Comey outlined Clinton's guilt last July but then decided not to recommend charges be pursued.

Bartiromo then pressed Trump on why Comey is still on the job if he feels that way.

Trump answered that Clinton would be going to "trial" right now if it weren't for Comey's decision.

Big mistake.  Giving everybody a good, fair chance..... even if/when they don't deserve it.... is not a sane, logical or smart move, Donald.  The appearance of 'fair' as the motivation is disingenuous, IMO.

So, what's his answer?  Why isn't she?

Comey said that Clinton was in fact guilty, but she didn't mean to, she didn't know, she didn't do it 'intentionally'. Therefore, there is no reason to prosecute her.

I would have fired Comey on the first day in office.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Just another laugh, and another head shake.

I expect that will become more than a daily occurrence with Trump as time marches on.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Trump Expresses Confidence In FBI Director, But Says He Can Still Be Fired [VIDEO]
Daily Caller, Apr 12, 2017, Chuck Ross

President Trump offered up a mixed review of FBI Director James Comey in a new interview with Fox Business.

Trump told the business network’s Maria Bartiromo that he still has confidence in Comey, but he blamed the Obama administration appointee for keeping Hillary Clinton out of jail, and he said “it’s not too late” to fire him.

“No, it’s not too late [to fire Comey], but, you know, I have confidence in him. We’ll see what happens. It’s going to be interesting,” Trump told Bartiromo.

Asked by Bartiromo why, given Comey’s handling of the Clinton email investigation, Trump has not fired him, the Republican said: “Well, because I want to give everybody a good, fair chance.”

“Director Comey was very, very good to Hillary Clinton, that I can tell you. If he weren’t, she would be right now going to trial,” he added.

And asked if he plans to push for a case against Clinton, Trump demurred.

“I don’t want to talk about that. I want to talk about positive.”

Trump also doubled down on his claims last month that Obama ordered wiretaps against him.

“Perhaps I didn’t know how right I was, because nobody knew the extent of it,” Trump said.

“You look at the extent of the surveillance, me and so many other people, it’s terrible.”

". . . We’ll see what happens. It’s going to be interesting,” Trump told Bartiromo.

That's one of the problems.

The apocryphal curse related by Sir Austen Chamberlain of "May you live in interesting times" is considered a curse with good reason.  Most people would prefer quiet prosperity.  Unfortunately, though, ADHD Trump needs to feed his craving for stimulation and is willing to whiplash the country around to meet his needs.

So we stay on the roller-coaster.
