The wife and I were in Kalispell about ten years ago. We spent three nights there. Beautiful area. Where is the best place to eat, or what are some good restaurants?
Well, I ain't much for going out, and it depends upon what you would rate as good food... The $50 dollar a plate joints ain't my bag. They're here, but I don't go. I like redneck stuff... Country diners... good burgers...
Best all around I would say is Sykes diner uptown... My favorite place to be. It's a local landmark that was where the old folks went to congregate around 10 cent bottomless coffees out in the diner behind the store. When Old Man Sykes died, it quickly fell into a spiral and closed down... for years.
But it was bought by the Thomson family, whose intent to make it a bit more of an upscale version has truly been realized. The coffee costs a bit more, but the food s great with a Country Kitchen/ Country diner atmosphere. You'll spend a touch more than you'd like to, but you'll leave full of good food. Great Christian family joint, easy going, and affordable.
Cislo's Diner down in Evergreen ain't too shabby either... Bojangles on the west side, if you can catch them open. Moose's Saloon uptown, of course, is famous for their pizza, as is Charlie's Beer Depot and Casino, and Scotty's Bar probably makes the best burgers hereabout. Ribs would be Famous Dave's if you like Texas and KC, The Back Room in Columbia Falls for the more vinegar based Carolina style... But the Desoto Grill uptown is tops.
Y'all get up this way, be sure to give a holler. If family ain't in town, I'd be happy to haul you around. I live simple, but there's always sweet tea in the fridge, and you're welcome.
