Trump will sign any bill that makes it to his desk....

Interesting. Do you have a source link where he said that?

Have you all contacted your representative and told him/her how you want them to represent you?

No.  That's a prediction based on widely-reported efforts by Trump and Ryan to try to get some movement out of either the Freedom Caucus, or the moderates, or both.  It wasn't them insisting on just a single particular bill.  And I don't think they cared which group gave ground -- they were just trying to push at either end to see if it was possible to cobble together enough votes.  And I think Trump would have signed it either way, else they wouldn't have even been trying to move either/both  groups.

The core problem is that there are too many moderates in the House and Senate who will not vote for the kind of bill demanded by the Freedom Caucus.  That is the core reality, and blaming Trump, Ryan, or McConnell doesn't make sense because they cannot dictate how individual Senators/members will vote.

I noticed, too .. he really does have a great house.  Unless, of course, he's gotten himself a nice part-time job.   ^-^

It's looking more and more like my refusal to vote for Trump was well founded!

@Bigun

I don't regret voting third party, and if I had it to do over, would do the same.

Based on the information I had at the time, so would I.  Now I'm not so sure but looking more and more like it.

It looks like it is going to be a 'leave it' - it is being reported Ryan is pulling the TRyanCare bill, not only does he not have the votes, he is losing the votes he had.

Nope, I don't get that attached to anything coming out of DC. Happy to see RINOCare gone and a chance for a repeal, but when it gets down to it, the actual 'game' of politics is all bread and circuses.

What good does that do us?

We may want to fantasize that "they'll get all the blame", but that's not true.  If it goes down the toilet, Republicans will get the blame because they will have controlled the government when that happened.

The "solution" of doing nothing and "letting it go down the toilet" is the dream scenario for Democrats.   The truth is that the Medicaid expansion subsidies will remain, and won't go down the toilet at all.  And that's the biggest expense.  The parts that might go down completely, like the individual markets, will be blamed on Republicans, who let it happened and didn't pass an alternative.

I suppose some conservatives may take smug satisfaction in being proven "right", but we'll be in an even worse place.

Because what's being propsed isn't going to work. We're just rearranging and basically going with the same core plan. We need to start over and rewrite it. That also means that the moderates are going to have to give on some things, not just the conservatives.

If they're not willing to do that, then they need to forget doing it at all. This isn't some smirky little playground game where you can shuffle shells around in cute configurations. If they can't come up with something that will economically work, we are right back to where we started.
The Republic is lost.

@Right_in_Virginia, not me; I don't care for champagne.  But - I am very glad that this bill has been pulled and hopefully buried.  It would have been a disaster for the GOP to own this abomination.

Mine is if we actually manage to avoid this bullet!

This would be a champagne popping moment. A win for conservatism instead of kabuki theater BS "repeal."

Buuuuut... you're fully vested in Trump, so you would like your own arse if he said to do it.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

So, forgive me for not quite believing you.   ^-^

Word of caution for all as details leak from White House - Trump loves misdirection, so do some aides. Narrative and reality may not match.
