Yep - and you are both correct.However ... (you knew that was going to happen)Fear goes both ways. You've a population at home that are also quite frightened and want to know something, anything, is being done, especially after the complete incompetence of the last lot in power.It's a balance. Enough information to reassure the people at home, until such time as they relax and start to trust the ones set to protect them again, with enough darkness to make the enemy fear. I feel the new administration will err on the side of too much information for a while. Makes our job harder, but thems the breaks.
Absolutely agree. From what I know of Mattis, he thinks exactly the same way, and I do foresee reports of this sort becoming rarer and less instanta as time goes on.
