Yes, I am so grateful, and frankly, amazed about how she has bounced back. She is a survivor. If there is a recurrence of the pain I will consult an orthopedic surgeon.

Agreed. I've heard that animals do not personalize pain the way humans do- they just accept it and bear it. This little girl had a horrible early life- she was a puppy mill breeder who was thrown away. I will give her the best possible life I can.

I was at a pet show last weekend and there was a three legged dog.  It was remarkable watching him get around.  Animals don't do pity parties.  They deal.  I think I can learn from them.  Stop dwelling and crying, woe is me.  Get up and carry on.
