What I am wondering is if the Dim Party will go traditional if she blows her heart out her butt before the election,and run Chelsea in her place? There is a long tradition of relatives taking over the office of deceased politicians,so it could happen.

I don't think you can sub in a relative before an election is held.

It is up to party rules and the nominating committee.  Nothing I have read on several websites indicate anything about a relative stepping in.
