That, of course, is the issue, and that Trump is, himself, creating a false image in order to pander to unthinking "evangelical" voters.
I saw the stale old "we're not electing a preacher" meme here many a time, but that also is not the point.
Donald Trump is amoral. He doesn't know right from wrong. He has no compunction against lying about anything and everything.
IOW, he is without character.
And Christian or not, that is a dangerous person to put in the Oval Office.
Yes he is not denying it completely. Saying you have heard and its too much isn't I am not chosen by God. Of course this one is on the Evangelical church leaders promoting these false prophesies. If Trump was Chosen by God then we would have to believe we can all act that way. We can all lie, cuss, bear false witness against people and families. We can all promote kicking people's A___. We could make fun of the disabled, and women. Be shallow and insulting about people's looks. We would expect that God wants us speak freely because that is the beauty of Trump. That he says what he wants right? Its OK with God right?? Were all sinners so we should continue to sin right?
Wrong. Romans 6:1
Romans 6:1-11New International Version (NIV)
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Should we have unbridled tongues? NoJames 3 New International Version (NIV)
Taming the Tongue
3 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
Its so obviously not God.
