I'm reminded of a book we studied in college, S.I. Hayakawa's "The Word is Not the Thing." Calling an apple a pencil doesn't mean you can use it to write a sentence on a piece of paper. Calling a girl "zim" doesn't make her anything but what she is, even if that "what" is a mentally disturbed girl.
This is a man:

Calling Tom "ze," "zim," "qzbr," "rutabaga" or "mongoose" doesn't change what he is. The
word is not what he is,
he is. He's a man (can I get an amen, ladies?), and that's just reality. So all those little sexually confused snowflakes need to accept reality and get on with their strange little lives.
