Op-Ed Bernie Sanders: I support Hillary Clinton. So should everyone who voted for me

Bernie Sanders  August 5, 2016, 3:00 AM

The conventions are over and the general election has officially begun. In the primaries, I received 1,846 pledged delegates, 46% of the total. Hillary Clinton received 2,205 pledged delegates, 54%. She received 602 superdelegates. I received 48 superdelegates. Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee and I will vigorously support her.

Donald Trump would be a disaster and an embarrassment for our country if he were elected president. His campaign is not based on anything of substance — improving the economy, our education system, healthcare or the environment. It is based on bigotry. He is attempting to win this election by fomenting hatred against Mexicans and Muslims. He has crudely insulted women. And as a leader of the “birther movement,” he tried to undermine the legitimacy of our first African American president. That is not just my point of view. That’s the perspective of a number of conservative Republicans.

In these difficult times, we need a president who will bring our nation together, not someone who will divide us by race or religion, not someone who lacks an understanding of what our Constitution is about.

On virtually every major issue facing this country and the needs of working families, Clinton’s positions are far superior to Trump’s. Our campaigns worked together to produce the most progressive platform in the history of American politics. Trump’s campaign wrote one of the most reactionary documents.

Proof beyond a doubt, that democrats are much smarter politically than Republicans/conservatives.

The dems' #2 urges unification, to win and get most of their agenda.

The GOP #2 urges going many separate ways, failing to win or get their agenda. Hurt feelings, lack of unity, lack of leadership, lack of common sense even if they share mostly common purposes.

And if it isn't Trump the left behinds complain about, it is Romney or McCain or Dole of Bush the Elder.

Maybe if our #1 wasn't trying to pull in Bernie votes............  What this tells me is that Trump didn't need conservatives because he was going to get all the Bernie Sanders liberal socialist communist votes.  Guess what?  If Bernie says don't vote for Trump he isn't going to get their votes.  Its a done deal.  Conservatives never want to vote for someone who will bend with the wind to appeal to socialist/communist voters.  We don't want gay marriage or LGBTQ rights.   We don't think that Kim Jung Un or Saddam Hussein are examples of strength.  We don't like candidates that admire dictators or tyrants.

Trump is so confused about who he is even he can't figure it out.  Its like the Michael Jackson song am I black or white.  Only Trump is am I Democrat or Republican.  Am I anti-establishment or establishment.  Am close borders or amnesty.  The questions are severe and he is too crazy to figure it out.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

The Democrat #1 listens to their #2 and gives him prime opportunities to shape the Democrat platform.

The GOP #1 tells the world that the GOP #2 is a foreigner whose father helped kill Kennedy.  The GOP #1 doesn't stop attacking the GOP #2 even after winning enough electors to cinch the nomination.

Yes, the Democrats are smarter at politics.
