Trump is NOT joking, he always looks for ways not to pay his bills. Always. He might pay 80% or 90% of it, and make you spent more than is left to sue.

There is a group of people out in the business world that uses that exact same tactic on an ongoing level.  I had no idea until I worked for a small business owner once.  He called them "Gypsies".  We should check Trump's lineage.  He may have a few gypsies mixed in there with the Germans....lol.

So Trump publicly accused the hotel of purposely not turning on the air conditioning in order to save money? And then he threatened not to pay the bill?

Perhaps the hotel has grounds to sue for defamation?  Especially since I see Trump supporting commenters on the YouTube video and elsewhere call for people to call and harass the hotel for being “unfair” to Trump.

Besides, for any event like this, there is usually and advance team that arrives early to make sure everything is up to snuff.  They would not have noticed that the air-conditioning was not turned on or the thermostat set too high?

Trump's a grumpy old man who's accustomed to palatial splendor, total comfort, and not having to worry if his spray tan is melting off.

He's probably outraged that he can't wave his little hands and magically make the room temperature a frosty 60 degrees.  It's the God Complex.

The Trump campaign signed a contract and then publicly bashed their business partner. These venues need to add a new clause to their standard contract to state that the speaker won't trash them during the event. Call it the Trump rule.

Every system has it's limits and I I think it's a safe bet that the ballrooms system was not designed to deal with all the additional heat load generated at that event, especially not all the hot air expelled by orange julius. In addition I think I read that the thermostat was set at 63? It is quite possible that in an attempt to keep the AC cycling, they actually caused the evaporator coil to ice up resulting in blocked air flow and limited if any cooling.

I am not an HVAC expert, but putting several hundred people in a ball room (each at 98.6F) can tax an AC system, keeping it from keeping up if outside ambient is 95-100 degrees.

I have seen it before, and I think Trump owes that place an apology. :shrug:

He was probably waiting for a couple of his supporters to rush on the stage and fan him with palm leaves.  I'm sure if he had asked nicely they would have been more than happy to do so.

Maybe next time he should hold his events at one of his casinos.  Those places are always freezing.  That way he could rip people off both politically and monetarily. :laugh:
