Trump: 'I'm the king of debt'

Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president and self-described “king of debt,” offered a glimpse into his deal-making playbook Wednesday morning as he defended himself from Hillary Clinton's attacks.
“I’m the king of debt. I’m great with debt. Nobody knows debt better than me,” Trump told Norah O’Donnell in an interview that aired on “CBS This Morning.” “I’ve made a fortune by using debt, and if things don’t work out I renegotiate the debt. I mean, that’s a smart thing, not a stupid thing.”

“How do you renegotiate the debt?” O’Donnell followed up.
“You go back and you say, hey guess what, the economy crashed,” Trump replied. “I’m going to give you back half.”

...

In a different interview Wednesday morning on ABC's "Good Morning America," Trump defended his use of bankruptcy laws in business dealings. The GOP nominee, who has been through four corporate bankruptcies, said he has "used brilliantly the laws of this country" in the business world, but never in his personal life. He said his history of bankruptcies is not unique within the business community.
“I’m running a business, you’ve got to understand. I’m running a business," Trump said when asked if those bankruptcies had hurt average Americans. "I’m running a business for myself, for my company, for my employees and for my family.”

I'm sorry but the man needs to stay off Twitter and stop these silly interviews with anyone who will listen.
He should stop pissing off the Cruz supporters and other GOPers that have not publicly indorsed him.  The interviews (i.e. free press) might have worked in the Primary season, but we are now in the general.  He needs to shut up and become more measured in his talking points.  I'm afraid his mouth and ego are his biggest liabilities that cannot be overcome.

I'm not listening Donald J. Trump! Bragging is not presidential.

America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign. -Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta

This is probably THE most idiotic thing Trump has said thus far.  And he has provided some really stiff competition re: that.

Give back to who?  With what?  A collapsed economy = no money to give anyone, much less "half".  Asinine.

Trump needs to always be scripted or on a teleprompter.  Cause what comes out of his mouth is absolute caca.

And yet he polls better than Hillary when it comes to the economy. Not that he will be good for the economy. He won't be. He'll just be better than Hillary. A race to the bottom

I love the 2016 election
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

My wife would have argued that I was the king of debt, but I will gladly hand over the title to Trump.

Someone please remind me -- is debt a good thing?

It can be, for companies and even for people in the short term. But when a country is $20 trillion in the hole, it's a complete disaster.

And, since he's referring to US treasuries -- one of the most -- if not the most -- safe investments in the world, would be catastrophic for world markets.

Start investing in wheelbarrows.

It would lead to the destruction of the world economy.  Back to barter.

This issue alone turned me irrevocably against stumpy.  The yawning chasm of ignorance is so wide, one cannot see across it.  It leaves me speechless in the face of utterly astonishing stupidity.
