Maybe the cartoonist didn't want to draw a dog. For the record, the stories that came out on this said dogs, cats and pigeons were all being hunted. I sympathize with your point of view.

I also think that press stories, especially international, are often a bit exaggerated and sensationalized in some cases, this may be happening but not on a grand scale.
