Walker (or Rick Perry) was my original guy LandO but his demonstrated and successful low-key Midwest competence was going to get smothered as Brother Trump's Traveling Salvation Show started sucking all the oxygen out of everywhere at all times.

It reminded me of Tim Pawlenty's attempt in 2012.  He was a very successful governor in Minnesota who beat the lefties at about every turn but couldn't get traction down in Iowa when Michele Bachmann (who I generally like) decided she was going to be the Minnesota choice by being a screeching, anti- Pawlenty banshee.

He demurred, much like Walker.  It's too bad, but our elections are becoming freak shows.

These two polls tell me that Trump supporters on this board will vote for the GOP candidate to keep the Clintons out of the WH, while Cruz supporters really don't give a rip about letting the most corrupt First Couple in history back in charge of the keys to the country.

Fascinating.  No wonder Cruz is so unpopular and continues to crash in the polls.  He's getting his ASS KICKED TONIGHT!!

If a true constitutional conservative is too extreme, then all hope for this country is lost.  It is this attitude of extremism that has given us the liberal court justices, Obama, Hillary and more.  It is far past time to get back the roots of this country and base our form government on the founding constitution, not social justice.  Don't you think we've had enough RINO's?

My goodness, Sanguine, did you see Cruz's numbers in the five primaries yesterday?   As John Podhoretz said this morning, "It isn't only that the not-Trump vote is failing to coalesce around Cruz; he's going backwards".    Cruz is done if he can't win Indiana,  and how can Trump's blowout wins in five states not impact how that race will go? 

Kasich will leave Cruz alone in Indiana,  giving Cruz the one-on-one he wants.   But even if Kasich had withdrawn from the primaries yesterday,  Cruz still wouldn't have stopped Trump.

Of course I would vote for Trump instead of staying home or voting Hillary.

Trump will last only one term, and after his performance, conservatives will be shouting from the rooftops to have a conservative in 2020.

Cruz will be only 48 then, still young, and will return with strength, just like Reagan in '80.

Trump is sly enough to consider him also for SC to shore up conservative base he needs.

Seriously acting like those states are important to the core values of conservatives is laughable.  But yes Indiana is important.

Yet the choices the GOP has given us over the last several elections wasn't worth voting for either. People sat on their hands knowing full well who would be elected.

I haven't sat out an election since I was old enough to vote.  Don't intend to sit this one out either.  Am already used to having to hold my nose and vote against the Democrats.  This election will be no different.
