You do realize that if the Cubs win the World Series, this would bring about cataclysmic events that could change life as we know it (Hell freezing over, etc...)?

And, even more significant, the 2004 Red Sox.
And guess what happened the day after each brought off their impossibles?
The sun still rose. The autumn leaves still gave off their sweet, succulent fragrances upon falling and burning. Men and women
went to work unscathed, children went to school unscathed (if you didn't count the propagandising of education, that is), the
skies still hovered as the reassuring ceilings they normally are, the flora and the fauna carried on as though nothing could
disrupt their bucolic plays.
The only cataclysms known to man were the orgasms in two cities after each. The only freezings over on record were those
that accompany the usual places and faces when winter came at last.
I will grant you that if the Cubs should go all the way this year, well . . . if you thought Red Sox Nation went intercontinental
ballistic with joy, Cub Country is going to be in for a whole lotta you-ain't-see-
nothing-yet. It won't be enough to turn
the world upside down or Hades into a cold snap, but it'll be louder than a concert by the Who in their prime.
