Attorneys General Create Axis For Global Warming Shakedown

Inquisition: The top law enforcement officers in 16 states have formed a coalition to investigate and prosecute companies that don’t agree with them on climate change. In other words, those not practicing orthodoxy will be punished.
Joining this distinguished group of modern-day Torquemadas at its formation was Al Gore, who apparently has nothing better to do in his post-vice presidency than to keep hectoring everyone about the evils of fossil-fuel use.
“We cannot continue to allow the fossil fuel industry or any industry to treat our atmosphere like an open sewer or mislead the public about the impact they have on the health of our people and the health of our planet,” Gore said Tuesday in a news conference held in Manhattan.
Standing next to Gore was New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who promised that the group of state attorneys general will hunt down the global warming heretics and punish them.
“If there are companies, whether they’re utilities, whether they’re fossil fuel companies, committing fraud in an effort to maximize their short-term profits at the expense of the people we represent, we want to find out about it,” he said. “We want to expose it and want to pursue them to the fullest extent of the law.”
Of course the researchers who take government money to write reports and studies that undergird the man-made global warming narrative will never be investigated for their fraudulent actions and attempts to manipulate the public with exaggerations. It helps that they are on the same side as the persecutors, who will not stand for dissent from their dogma. They are a team.
Meanwhile, legitimate businesses now have to guard against the coming shakedown. Powerful men and women have warned them that, in the words of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, they “must be held accountable.” The prospect of “possible joint investigations,” such as those threatened by Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen, is chilling.
Schneiderman said, “We have heard the scientists; we know what is being done to the planet.” But what he and the others are hearing are cash registers raking in the penalties they want to assess, the adoration of those in lockstep with them, and the vote counting that will launch them to higher office.
Just as it is with the entire global warming scare, this coalition is not about stewardship of Earth — it’s about money and power. And both can be more easily acquired by mobs that exercise raw political muscle.
