Never will understand this.
If your jaw is swollen like a tomato and you have a fever of 103 most doctors will refuse to medically intervene because that is "dental", which is some kind of holy elevated space beyond basic reality, which they are not allowed to trespass. This is 'dental' ... this is not basic healthcare.

All true. But why are they not considered 'health care providers' as most doctors are?
Why do doctors refuse to give antibiotics if the cause is dental?
Dental is just another part of the body. Why doctors run from it is a mystery.
There are things doctors could do in terms of promoting general health without having to do any dental procedure.
But they refuse.

Hey wait till you need a joint replacement, when I needed a total knee replacement one of the medical sign offs I needed was from a dentist, bad teeth no knee! So if you have insurance that covers your knee replacement but can't afford the dental works you have to continue in pain and disability.

Doctors tend to make fun of dentists as not being 'real doctors'. But from where I sit, it seems the dentists are the 'holy ones' and doctors are just common practitioners. In the world as it is today, would rather be a dentists than a common doctor.
