This is an old narcissist cheerleading for himself. And, of course, he is going to bring up illegal immigration in Texas, a state with more illegals than any other.

None of what he says--NONE OF IT--will ever happen. But these doofi sitting out there think he can do what he's saying all by himself.

Rally over. This was not a point for point position speech -- Trump just firing up his troops, generating spirit.

Like I said I can see why people dislike Trump. He has a very odd speaking cadence. You have to listen for a while to get his message.

In fact, he did make a number of points. It's just difficult to stick with him. You had to ignore all the superlatives to hear the concrete points.

You have to ignore that he said nothing at all...that is what you have to ignore. But he's an "icon", right?

My take away? This was a pep rally. It's what campaigning politicians do, excite the fans. It wasn't a stump speech.

I think his most ardent supporters don't care that his speechifying is not Lincolnesque. They think his strength will be in the Oval Office working on the economy, foreign-policy, war on terror, immigration.

He's definitely not a typical politician.

He's at best a good symbol of post modern America. He'd probably agree.

My only concern is if Joe Biden is the Democratic nominee. I think in a head-to-head Trump would handily defeat any other Democrat.

I don't trust Trump as far as I could throw him. I have other concerns.
