ONC doesn't turn back. But when there's a hill to take I'm glad he's there leading a charge and taking the hits with no turning back.

Thank you.  That's a very nice thing to say and it's appreciated.  I like this community.

Urban Dictionary:

ginger 

A human, characterized by pale skin, freckles and bright red hair. "Gingers" are generally considered to be inferior to their more melanin-rich brethren, and thus deservingly discriminated against. Gingers are thought to have no souls. The condition, "gingervitis" is genetic and incurable.

Ron Howard is a ginger.

Carrot Top is a good example of why gingers should be discriminated against.

Trash Trump--not his supporters.

I'm not 'trashing' anyone.  I just frankly don't understand how people who are in any way conservative....  ANY way....... and how people who usually use their very fine brains to make rational decisions, are now supporting a completely non conservative jerk to be the President of the country we ALL love.

I don't agree with 'trashing' anyone on this board.  But I've never received a rational response to how people, again, who usually make sense, say they don't care what his policies are, they just want a street-fighter, or a bully on OUR side.  I don't understand overlooking this man's horrific personality flaws and nouveau Republicanism.

I am forced, since I receive no rational replies in his support, to think that this is merely a cult of personality, and there is absolutely no concern over policy, conservatism, or anything else.

As I have said before, the support of good people for a rude, nasty, misogynistic boor is bewildering.

I have also noted that the people who DO support Trump, lash out at those who say anything bad about him, and are very protective of their chosen candidate.  I have been personally attacked by two different posters simply because I criticized Trump, when I said nothing personal to them.  People who support him are very sensitive to attacks on TRUMP.

And, relating to your original question, there is absolutely no parallel between Fiorina's comment that you brought up, and the overall abusive, nasty attitude toward others that Trump has.

I'm still praying that one of the very sharp, serious, patriotic men/woman that were on that stage Wednesday get the nomination, and not the guy who is just playing the crowd and pretending to be something that he's not.

Excellent post, as usual, Lea.

Don't get me wrong....I love them all, but they can kiss my a$$ when it comes to Donald Trump.

Everyone of them.

Aw, poor Carly. Look at all the publicity and attention that the Trump comment has given her.  She should be thankful. Perhaps that was the intent in the first place. She has skyrocketed in the polls.  Her "assertiveness" during the debates and her rebuttal ad to me speaks volumes and could be considered racist by some.  It depicts all white women and two black women.  I am white and that was my immediate reaction after I viewed the ad.

I think she is articulate and a talented business women who has made it to the top by stepping on many toes and I see her just as narcissistic as the Muslim Marxist in the oval office.

I  wonder though how is this any different than Barry making the sexist comment "She's brilliant and she's dedicated, she's tough. ... She also happens to be, by far, the best-looking attorney general."  What about his racist comment of  his grandmother, calling her a “typical white person” who is fearful of blacks and therefore holds them back or Michelle's comment "black girls rock".  Another one of Barry's inappropriate comments "that's just how white folks do you...".

Yep - of course it was. Trump INTENDED to boost an opponent in the polls, cause he's a stand up guy like that. No really - he was even kind to Rosie O'Donnell, boosting her terrible ratings in the same way! He's a prince among men!

Stop killing yourself trying to excuse this bullshit. If it doesn't bother you that Trump obviously sees half the damned human race as decorative (at best) - that's fine. Just don't expect it to stop bothering the rest of us.

I don't understand what the problem is.  Fiorina is an outsider, pushier than Carson but less so than Trump.  She's not perfect but I think she would be better than either of them if it came down to it.

IMHO Donald Trump is every bit as big a narcissist as Obama! Wouldn't trust him with a book of paper matches much less the nuke codes!

Respectfully, m'lady, I assert it's a difference of opinion whether Donald Trump is sincere and capable of making changes to politics as usual.

I agree Donald Trump has diarrhea of the mouth. You're right about that aspect of his personality. I can't stand his intemperate remarks.

But his words scare me much less then the fear I feel for the tone-deaf imperious political class in DC or the helplessness I feel at the hands of a feckless GOP that continues to ignore serious problems of government bloat and fiscal irresponsibility and of an open border that puts mounting pressure on middle class wages and strains our social systems.

I think the crux of our difference is that I did not recoil at Donald Trump's initial announcement that he would seek the office. Most of the folks that hate Trump gave him not one nano second of consideration. Did no research on who his circle of friends are and what they say about him.

Look, I'm a New Yorker and Donald Trump is New York. He has many personal supporters; people I know of who trust and admire his business acumen, people who know him well on a personal level and say he's a decent man with a big heart. I am more than convinced that he's a patriot who loves this country. I think that's the greatest prerequisite for president.

You can continue to ignore and distrust him as you wish. I will continue to examine his campaign along with others whom I like.

Ah that explains it.  I'm a southerner and that probably explains why I couldn't stand the guy even before he ran for president.

The comment that Trump made about Fiorina's face was inappropriate.  The point I was trying to make is people make inappropriate comments about others all the time including the current sitting president.  Some of Trumps appeal to others is his candidness and he speaks "off the cuff".  Carly certainly hasn't suffered anything by his comments in fact she has gained from them.  Those that suffered were the 30,000 employees that Carly fired.  Secondly, I would find it very difficult to believe that at 61 years of age, Trump is the first one to state anything negative about Carly's looks.  No I can't feel sorry for her with $50,000,000 in her pocket while cruising aboard one of her two yachts.  Give me a break!

Remember when Fiorina was caught on a hot mic making fun of Barbara Boxer's hair for being "so yesterday?"  Big deal, only limp-wristed liberals cared.

Trump is a goof, but this faux outrage victimhood nonsense on our side reminds me of how liberals react.

Toughen up, conservatives.  There was less outrage on this board when HRC called us all terrorists a few weeks ago.

Political correctness is ingrained in the American psyche.  "Educators" have been indoctrinating our children for at least three generations now. Very disheartening.

No..no..he's still a big jerk who doesn't know a damn thing as is proved in the debates.

My wife is a southerner and absolutely loves him (which I admit raises an eyebrow). Apparently a lot of southerner's in Texas and Florida (according to the polls) are pretty fond as well. Truth be told, jury is out on whether Trump can hold up as the numbers of candidates drop, we will see if he has a long game.  But regardless Trump is teaching the GOP how to compete effectively with the Democrats in today's media driven political world - with all their built in advantages that have come being craven and completely corrupt.  That lesson needs to be learned.  If simply having better policies and winning debates would do it, Romney would be President today, remember that first debate?  Trump is showing us how to overcome that - call out the endemic corruption specifically and make a noisy point about not participating in it, go over and around the media by being so loudly bold in what you say they can't define you themselves. And find your wedge issue and drive it - Democrats always do this...starving grandma, evil white straight men, war against women, killing social security...you name it, they've got a ton of them. Trump found one and it resonates and it elevates him above the media's usual game. I don't care what it is, you have to have one - that's how you go on offense. If the Republicans get stuck playing defense again they'll lose...even Jeb Bush seemed to recognize that a little bit on Wednesday.
Well, George Lewis told the Englishman, the Italian and the Jew
You can't open your mind, boys, to every conceivable point of view
