From the same Rolling Stone interview where Trump made that unfortunate off the record comment during a stream of consciousness moment while watching Fiorina on TV.

As you might have guessed, this interview was not favorable to Trump (Rolling Stone is as left wing is it gets). Yet, this, from Rolling Stone:

In all the hysteria, however, what's often missed are the qualities that brought Trump here. You don't do a fraction of what he's done in life — dominate New York real estate for decades, build the next grand Xanadus for the super-rich on the far shores of Dubai and Istanbul, run the prime-time ratings table for more than 10 years and earn a third (or sixth) fortune at it – without being immensely cunning and deft, a top-of-the-food-chain killer. Over the course of 10 days and several close-in encounters, I got to peer behind the scrim of his bluster and self-mythos and get a very good look at the man. What I saw was enough to make me take him dead serious. If you're waiting for Trump to blow himself up in a Hindenburg of gaffes or hate speech, you're in for a long, cold fall and winter. Donald Trump is here for the duration — and gaining strength and traction by the hour.

As opposed to the front runner who is soft on taxes, abortion, and the Second Amendment.

Conservatives often fawn over the white too.

From CNN.com September 11, 2015:

Headline: Donald Trump's nonexistent problem with GOP women

Washington (CNN) For any other presidential candidate, making off-color -- and arguably sexist -- comments about a female competitor would likely result in an insurmountable problem with women voters.

Not so for Donald Trump. At least not yet.

A new CNN/ORC poll shows that Trump has increased his lead among Republican women, boosting his share to 33% of women voters, up from 20% a month ago.

More at http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/10/politics/donald-trump-women/

Soft on abortion? (At one time I was soft on abortion). From trump.com/about:

Mr. Trump has over 7 million followers on social media. He frequently uses this platform to advocate for Conservative causes, Republican candidates and to educate the public on the failures of the Obama administration. Mr. Trump appears on Fox and Friends on Monday mornings and devotes much of his time to media interviews in order to promote a Free Market, the importance of a strong family, a culture of Life, a strong military and our country’s sacred obligation to take care of our veterans and their families.

Like many people who came around to a pro-life position late in life--including myself--Donald Trump is pro-life.

Republican leadership in Congress is making fools of Republicans. Don't need a left wing rag to do that for them.

In today's snapshot, i-Phone, social media world, all of this could be true - or perhaps - none of it is.

In my ever-shrinking world, Lando's little nook, a serious candidate for the Presidency does not say things such as this.  Nor is there a debate about it because it is so civilly and intuitively true.    But, here we are nonetheless.

My feeling is that no one individual here can change the trajectory of what's happening in the republican primary with Donald Trump. I believe attacking a Republican candidate or their support gains us nothing.

As a rule I don't bad mouth supporters or the candidate they support. I don't use the term RINO. My comments are generally aimed at whether I think a candidate can beat the socialist. Electability is my marker. I will vote republican for president. Period. Full stop.

I also try to discuss facts. I weigh a candidate's positions and whether I believe they have the mojo to go. all. the. way. Opinions from members are of some interest, but of almost no use to anybody except maybe the person espousing them. Most of us will make up our own mind. Thank you for listening.

Trump is a product of the Facebook-Twitter universe, to a big extent. Anything for attention, good or bad.

Some highly skilled professional entertainers do not desire 24/7 limelight. Tom Hanks for one.

Some others do crave the limelight, and will do almost anything for it. Brucelyn Jenner.

But then comes the political class. Once they had their own place, language, channels of competing for attention. The national media consisted of a few papers, a few national networks, a few national news magazines. Those channels in turn doled out attention, for fairly conventional reasons.

Before that,  royalty had courts, that arranged favors, audiences, etc.

Today anybody needs to be a Jester, to get their face and their agenda into the public.

The Clerk in Kentucky gets her 15 minutes of fame, and the Huckster and Cruz rush there, to be by her side on camera.

The Huckster is a Pastor/Politician and The Cruz is a Constitutional expert (along with Obama and Levin, other Constitutional experts).

But above all they are entertainers worthy of media attention. Anybody wonder what is the deal, with the Trumpster?

Rick Perry ought to climb down from his Campaign Steed, and admit "I can't keep up with this sh!t anymore. I'm just an olde fashioned Texas country boy."

Donald Trump says that his controversial comments about Carly Fiorina and other women were made “as an entertainer.”

“It all goes hand-in-hand. And much of the — many of the statements — and, if you notice, I’m leading with women. This is nothing new because a colleague of yours mentioned something during the last debate. So this is nothing new. And yet I’m leading with women,” Trump told Fox’s Greta Van Susteren Thursday night after she repeatedly questioned him about why he was commenting on Fiorina’s physical appearance.

Trump continued: “Many of those comments are made as an entertainer, because I did ‘The Apprentice.’ It was one of the top shows on television. I decided not to do it again because I wanted to run for president. But some comments are made as an entertainer. And, as everybody said, as an entertainer [it] is a much different ballgame.”

Every time he throws an insult out at another Republican candidate, the Trump camp always respond with 'He or She struck first'. It's childish, really.

LOL~   You sound like that elusive 20% voting bloc that we're told HATES negative campaigns....that wants boths side to "work together".

Guess what?   BOTH sides ARE working together....that's why we're pissed.

No one, including Ben Carson, enters the American political race for the presidency without having an ego the size of Montana.

Important to remember this --- and repeat often.

An ego the size of Montana, AND the expectation to make hundreds of thousand (or millions) of $$$ in their future entertainment-media pursuits.

Sarah Palin proved that path. The lowest of the 17 current candidates will be able for years into the future to be introduced as "former GOP Presidential candidate" Mr. X.

Graham, Pataki, even Carly. For those without independent wealth, think how nicely the appearance fees supplement their pensions?

I would say Carly is independently wealthy:

The way I look at it, the longer Trump can keep the MSM busy, the better.  Look at the name/face recognition she is now getting because of Trump.  As for Firoina, she has many business accomplishments and granted a few failures; but overall she is a very strong business woman.  She has no political experience to speak of.  Her stance on many issues I find very concerning and she is hardly a conservative, but she has a couple of things going for her.  One she is female. Two she is able to articulate what the base wants to hear.  Three; she was the first woman to lead a top 20 company named by Forbes.  In 2003 Fiorina was named by Fortune Magazine as the most powerful woman in business, and in 2004 she was included in Time's 100 ranking of "most influential people in the world today".

I'm not so sure that the Trump phenomenon is going to last but for now he has been great for the GOP and again he's given Carly a boost in the polls.  She should be thankful.  As for Carly time will tell and I hope she is given a chance in the debates.  Usually, those who are considered by the media as insignificant aren't given the chance to speak very often and are passed over in comparison to the other candidates.   I like her "gusto" when she speaks and I feel she really has the ability to connect with people.  I only wish she were more conservative...but then again...she would be a breath of fresh air (at least that's how she portrays herself) compared to Barry.

All right, let's get something straight here. My top five candidates are (in no particular order, yet): Cruz, Trump, Fiorina, Jindal, Walker.  I think any of these candidates would make fine presidents.  I'm sorry if your mileage varies.

But, I'm tired of you constantly sniping and taking everything personal. Give it a rest. It's a long process and things will eventually shake out. I hope we're on the same side here.

No Clinton, no Sanders, no to Biden and no to O'Malley.

Check the details of this "event." He wasn't saying this "on air." He and the reporter were watching Fiorina on TV and Trump was making typical male patter.

This should be good for at least a couple points bump in the polls.

Remember, Trump is positioning himself as the "un" PC candidate.

So what?  That just demonstrates that he's an idiot when it comes to being around microphones; one should always assume they're turned on.  Besides which, if you want to really know something about someone, watch them when they think they're not being watched and listen to them when they thinking you're not listening.  That Trump thought this was "in private" simply means that we get a candid view of the real Trump.  I, for one, am seriously tired of having sophmoric idiots in the White House.
