The Washington Post’s mobile site appeared to be hacked Thursday by the Syrian Electronic Army, a hacker group that supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and targets media outlets.

Visitors to the site found several pop-up messages that rotated when you clicked “OK” until a blank page appeared with the words “Hacked by SEA.” Those messages included “US govt is training the terrorist to kill more Syrians” and “The media is always lying.”

The site seemed to be hacked around 1 p.m. EDT.

The Post has been targeted by the SEA before when, in August 2014, hackers redirected users reading several Post articles to the main SEA site. The SEA have targeted many news outlets, including the Associated Press and The New York Times, for their coverage of the Syrian conflict.

A Post spokesperson told Politico that the newspaper is working to solve the problem.
