Try Not To Laugh As You Read About Al Sharpton Being Sued For Racial Discrimination

Karma. It’s a female German Shepherd.
The National Association of African-American Owned Media (NAAAOM) has filed a lawsuit against Comcast and Time Warner Cable — two companies that could potentially merge — alleging at least $20 billion in racial discrimination.
And here’s the fun part: The suit also targets various African-American advocacy groups as well as MSNBC host Al Sharpton.
Sharpton claims that he “welcomes the opportunity to answer the frivolous allegations.” He also says he’s planning to bring counterclaims for defamation.
So here’s what’s going on: An African-American own media organization is filing a lawsuit against self-professed civil rights activist Al Sharpton for facilitating discrimination. In return, Sharpton will counter-sue that African-American own media organization for defamation.
Pass the popcorn, please. Heavy on the butter.
The suit alleges, among other things, that Comcast, which owns NBC Universal, made large cash “donations” to obtain support for the acquisition by TWC. That money includes $3.8 million to Sharpton and his National Action Network. The suit claims that the money was effectively a payoff to Sharpton so that he would support the deal.
The suit also points out that MSNBC keeps Sharpton around in spite of his sucky ratings.
“Despite the notoriously low ratings that Sharpton’s show generates, Comcast has allowed Sharpton to maintain his hosting position for more than three years in exchange for Sharpton’s continued public support for Comcast on issues of diversity,” the complaint reads.
