A murder investigation has been launched after three people were found dead at two properties in west London.

Police were called to a property in Westbourne Park Road, an area not far from Portobello Road market, were they found a 30-year-old man dead on a first floor roof on Friday.

His death is being treated as unexplained, the Metropolitan Police said.

On Saturday, officers went to inform the man's next of kin, but after entering the house they found the bodies of a man and woman inside. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both are thought to have died in suspicious circumstances.

Formal identification has not taken place and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

'Rapist kills his parents then leaps to death off tower block in Westbourne Grove'

This is the first picture of a mother allegedly murdered by her convicted rapist son who then plunged to his death from a tower block.

Zohra Amrani, 59, and her husband Hassan, 72, were found dead at their home in Westbourne Grove by police who went to inform them of their 30-year-old son Ashraf’s death.

Amrani, who was released from jail last year after completing a prison sentence for a horrific sex assault, fell to his death on Friday in a suspected suicide. His body was found by  residents on the first-floor roof of a block of flats.

Officers sent to break the news to his parents on Saturday found their bodies inside their home at a neighbouring building. Detectives are treating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide and are not seeking anyone else.

Police tape: a forensic Officer at the flat entrance (Picture: Nigel Howard) The case is due to be referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after it emerged officers had been called to the family home in  Landor House, Westbourne Park, Road three days earlier when Amrani was arrested on suspicion of affray.

He was freed on bail pending further inquiries and was due to return to a police station this week.
