Rape Suspect Beaten: 52-Year-Old Man Brutally Beaten After Allegedly Raping His Nephew’s Girlfriend
A rape suspect was badly beaten by his own nephew, after he allegedly had forceful sex with his nephew’s girlfriend at a home in South Carolina. According to the Huffington Post, 52-year-old William Mattson was arrested and charged on January 1. Mattson reportedly told police that the sex was consensual, but that claim was denied by the victim.
“The nephew told police that he heard sounds coming from inside his father’s bedroom when he returned to the party. He kicked down the door and says he found Mattson on top of his girlfriend. He said he punched Mattson repeatedly, driving him from the house.”
The rape suspect beaten by his nephew was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct. His nephew, however, was not charged with assault, as police say that he was acting in defense. According to My Fox Detroit, Mattson is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center while he awaits a future court date. It is unknown if he has a criminal past.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mattson’s nephew brought his girlfriend back to his father’s house after a New Year’s Eve party. The two were only apart for a short time, but that is when Mattson allegedly raped the woman.
The rape suspect beaten suffered a severely swollen left eye, and his lips and face were bleeding, according to WGN. The fight started off inside the house, and continued on the front lawn just after 1 a.m. The man’s nephew didn’t let him off the hook either. Even after police arrived, the nephew was violent. It is unknown if Mattson fought back or if his nephew was hurt in the fight. Mattson’s mugshot photo is almost hard to look at, as his nephew beat him until his face was bloodied and bruised.
It is unknown what kind of punishment Mattson is facing, but many hope that he will end up behind bars for a long period of time. There also seems to be some debate about the man’s nephew, and whether or not charges should have been brought against him. Some feel as though he was acting in defense, and that the man deserved to get beaten after committing rape, but others feel as though violence is never the answer.
