A national “power player” for the Democratic party and the gay rights movement was arrested Wednesday on charges of sex abuse of a minor.

Terry Bean, a Portland-based fundraiser for Democratic causes, is being charged with sex abuse and two counts of sodomy involving a 15-year-old boy. Bean’s attorney claims that his client is the victim of an “extortion ring” and expressed full confidence that his name would be cleared.

The Willamette Week reports that law enforcement sources say Bean, 66, will be charged with two counts of sodomy in the third degree (a felony) and sex abuse in the third degree (a misdemeanor). The arrest followed a six-month investigation concerning a concealed video camera over Bean’s bed that accuser Kiah Lawson says was used to illegally film him and at least half a dozen other men “in a state of nudity engaged in intimate acts with [Bean].”

As WW reported in June, Bean accused a former lover, Kiah Lawson, of attempting to extort him over the discovery of a hidden camera. In the spring, Bean sought to keep the allegations secret and tried to reach a $40,000 settlement with Lawson.

After WW began asking questions, Bean went to the police asking them to investigate his allegations. Bean also handed over to police what he said was evidence of additional illegal activity by Lawson and others.

Bean’s attorney, Kristen Winemiller, denied that the camera was used for illegal or improper purposes, claiming that he installed it because he’d been the victim of theft. Winemiller initially accused Lawson of attempting to extort Bean; however, the investigation eventually turned against Bean leading to his arrest this week.

In a written response to the arrest, Winemiller maintained that her client will be exonerated:

"Terry Bean is a highly respected community leader who has devoted his life to bettering our community. Over the course of several months in 2013‐2014 Terry was the victim of an extortion ring led by several men known to law enforcement. This current arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation of that case in which Mr. Bean has fully cooperated. No allegations against Terry Bean should be taken at face value. We look forward to the opportunity to clear his name."

Bean, a millionaire real estate developer, has been a major fundraiser for liberal political causes, particularly gay rights. He founded the leading gay rights organization, the Human Rights Campaign, personally donating over $1 million to the cause.

He has also been instrumental to the Democratic Party. As the Willamette Week reports, in 2009 Obama called Bean a “great friend and supporter” and is hosted by Bean every time he visits Oregon:   

No Oregonian has raised more money for President Barack Obama. At a 2009 Human Rights Campaign dinner, Obama called Bean a “great friend and supporter.” The president in 2012 hosted Bean on Air Force One, and when Obama visits Oregon, Bean has had the honor of greeting him as the president gets off his plane.

Bean will be arraigned later in Lane County, where the crimes allegedly occurred last year.

Yet another high profile "gay" activist has been arrested for homosexual assault on a child. This time authorities caught one of the big fish (a rainbow trout?): Terrence Patrick Bean founded the "Human Rights Campaign" (HRC), which is one of the world's largest, wealthiest and most powerful anti-Christian organizations. HRC was developed for the sole purpose of pushing the extremist homosexual political agenda. Bean is also a major player for the DNC and a big Obama supporter.

The Oregonian reports:

Detectives from the Portland police Sex Crimes Unit arrested Portland developer Terrence Patrick Bean on Wednesday on a Lane County indictment stemming from alleged sex abuse involving a teenage boy in 2013.


Bean, 66, a prominent gay rights activist and major Democratic Party fundraiser, was arrested at his home in Southwest Portland and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center at 10:12 a.m.


The indictment charges Bean with two counts of third-degree sodomy, a felony, and one count of third-degree sex abuse, a misdemeanor, police said.


Bean, who bailed out of jail by late Wednesday afternoon, will be arraigned on the indictment in Lane County. …

Bean's Flickr account shows him talking with Obama at several events, posing with first lady Michelle Obama and numerous other political figures, including former President Bill Clinton.  A blog post from his sister, Sue Surdam Bean, detailed her brother's work on a July 24, 2012 Obama fundraiser in Portland.  She included three photos of Terry Bean's ride on Air Force One with Obama to a subsequent event in Seattle.


Just two years ago 68 year old Harry Brinkin, another high profile and similarly respected (at least among Democrats) homosexual activist, was arrested in San Francisco for possessing and distributing reams of child pornography.

Police said that Brinkin, a former city employee, apparently had photos of children, as young as 1- or  2-years-old, performing sexual acts and being sodomized by adult men in attachments linked to the email address, reported The Chronicle. The email account was also linked to Yahoo discussion groups involving sexual exploitation of young people.


Concerning Brinkin, Theresa Sparks, director of the Human Rights Commission, told the Huffington Post, "It's almost incredulous, there's no way I could believe such a thing."


"He's always been one of my heroes, and he's the epitome of human rights activist," she said. "This is [the] man who coined phrases we use in our daily language. I support Larry 100 percent; hopefully it will all come out in the investigation."

 

Brinkin later plead guilty to the charges.

Yep – These monsters are "heroes" to the HRC and the larger "gay" activist community.

Ever wonder why?

The cases of Bean and Brinkin follow a long-established pattern as old as the ancient Greek bathhouse. Of course, not every "gay" man – self-identified or otherwise – is a pedophile, but studies indicate demonstrably that homosexual assaults against boys occur at an alarmingly disproportionate rate when compared to heterosexual assaults. The very act of a man molesting a boy unquestionably involves both same-sex attraction and homosexual behavior (a "gay" by any other name…).

Consider, for instance, a study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, of over 200 convicted pedophiles. It found that "86 percent of offenders against males described themselves as homosexual or bisexual." This demonstrates, as noted by Peter Sprigg of the Family Research Council, that "homosexual or bisexual men are approximately 10 times more likely to molest children than heterosexual men."

But don't repeat these facts out loud or you might find yourself on the hard-left Southern Poverty Law Center's (SPLC) "hate group" smear list.

Law enforcement sources confirm Kiah Loy Lawson, 25, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center Thursday morning after being taken into custody by detectives with the Portland Police Bureau's Sex Crimes Unit.


A Lane County grand jury issued a secret indictment and warrant for Lawson's arrest.


The indictment lists two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of third-degree sexual abuse. If Lawson is able to post bail, he will be released and will be given a court date to appear in Lane County to be arraigned. If he is not able to post bail, he will be transported to Lane County by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

WASHINGTON — He’s a mega bundler for President Obama. He’s been on Air Force One. He’s shared a Christmas visit with Michelle Obama at the White House. And now he’s being accused of sex with a minor.

Terry Bean, 66, a gay activist and major Democratic fund-raiser, was arrested Wednesday in Portland, Ore., for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Bean’s ex-boyfriend, Kiah Lawson, 25, was arrested Thursday in connection with the same incident.

The arrests follow an angry breakup between the couple, where Bean accused his former boyfriend of extortion after Lawson gained access to hidden video images from Bean’s bedroom.

Authorities said the duo found the 15-year-old online and had a sexual encounter with him in an Oregon hotel in 2013.

Bean, who raised more than $500,000 for Obama’s campaign in 2012, is charged with third-degree sodomy and third-degree sexual abuse in the sexual encounter.

Bean’s Flickr account shows him at several events with Obama and other political figures, including former President Bill Clinton. He’s also been photographed with Obama on Air Force One and with Michelle Obama during a Christmas event at the White House in 2012.

Records show Lawson has prior arrests and has pleaded guilty to theft and misdemeanor assault.

Snapshots chronicle the couple’s trips to Democratic fund-raising events and on a White House tour.

Bean’s lawyer charged that her client was being extorted.

“Over the course of several months in 2013-2014, Terry was the victim of an extortion ring led by several men known to law enforcement,” attorney Kristen Winemiller said in a statement. “This current arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation of that case in which Mr. Bean has fully cooperated.

“No allegations against Terry Bean should be taken at face value. We look forward to the opportunity to clear his name.”

Bean is a founder of the ­Human Rights Campaign, a leading gay-rights group.

The Willamette Week, a Portland-area newspaper, reported in June that after Lawson discovered a camera hidden in a smoke detector over Bean’s bed, he sought money from Bean, claiming the camera recorded videos “of at least a half dozen individuals in a state of nudity engaged in intimate acts with you.”

Bean attempted to settle the matter for $40,000, the paper ­reported.

Speaking at a major fund-raiser in Portland, Obama singled out Bean. “I want to thank somebody who put so much work into this event — Terry Bean! Give Terry a big round of applause,” he said.

That he may have been extorted over the crime doesn't mean he didn't commit it.

Look up pedophile and child molester statistics.  Anyone who molests or otherwise commits a sex crime with a minor deserves whatever the state can throw at them, whether the victims be male or female.  But the fact remains that most victims are female.  And most perps are in a position of power, whether it be a teacher, a doctor, a parent, a priest or other such denominational leader, a scout leader, etc.  A predilection toward children has little to do with the sexual preference of the perp.  It has a lot to do with power and a friggin warped mind.
