So much I would love to share and discuss about this movie but .....well it's impossible without spoiling the experience for the viewer.

Was the reason that gladiator did not kill the slave Esca until Marcus Flavius Aquila made HIS decision....voting "life".....because he was a guest of honor?  IOW...was the entire 'entertainment' the result of his presence in his visit to "Uncle" Aquila (Sutherland)?

Or....was it becase Esca was already his property?

Or...did "Uncle" give his nephew Esca to join him on his trip North?

I would also suggest that this is NOT the kind of movie you would show your troops the night before they go to battle.

Slave becomes Master.....Master gains empathy.

Also...the little boy who first asked them to take him with them.....Marcus had already killed one earlier when they were ambushed...that Esca allowed to run away...to see how the tribe handled that...WOW.

No correct decision possible.....

Can't wait to watch it again.    I DVR'd it!    :laugh:
