Banshee - The Final Season
« on: Sunday, Jun 16, 2013 04:07 pm »
Banshee - Cinemax

Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an ex-con and master thief assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff where he continues his criminal activities. His past seems to haunt him by those he betrayed years earlier. This ex-con imposes his own brand of justice where violence erupts at every turn in the not so quiet Amish town, Banshee, Pennsylvania.

Here, Lucas dispenses HIS brand of justice in an episode entitled "The New Boss"....where the cage fighter champion has brutalized one of the waitresses at the casino.

WARNING:   Extremely violent....yet it still takes you back to the day when the "good" guy wins.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I thought some of you that liked JUSTIFIED would surely like Banshee.

Victor?  ......Anyone?????

Here's a very good video of how Lucas came upon taking the sheriff's identity.

It may also help explain that Lucas' personality.

He had spent 15 years in prison for taking the rap on a diamonds heist...purposely leading the police away from his soulmate...who marries a successful man and has a family....in Banshee.

...the plot thickens from there.

Love the HELL out of Banshee. The episode in the post was outstanding. BUT, unlike Justified, Banshee makes too little effort to make   ANY of its characters likable. And the amount of physical damage Hood sustains in virtually every episodestrains credibility to the max. Still, very gritty and fast paced.

LOL!

I watched that episode tonight with my son....again.

Must confess, I watched the entire Sunday night marathon until what?.....2 AM?   So I must disagree with him not taking time to get to know the characters.

The uncle turns out to be not such a bad ally....despite a vicious fight between them.  {No spoilers}

The Amish girl who hooks up with Lucas....the niece of aforementioned uncle....her character grows.

Won't give anytihing else away...other to say that this has Justified beaten....as far as film editing and raw blood and guts action.

Love the manner in which the scene instantly jumps to what happens in the future....used when the fighter asked her to bring the bottle of champagne to his trailer.

The niece sure is incredibly beautiful though, isn't she?    :howlin:

Okay......NOW we're getting somewhere!

BTW....who doesn't love Hoon Lee as Job?  Damn!!  What a fun role.

So Anna is in jail, while Lucas has just solved the horrible killing and finding the missing Amish boy, Rebecca's brother.

Are you still with me?   LOL!

We find out tonight that it's LOVE!   A love so insane...that you love more than anything.  Which may explain why Lucas is still hanging around.

The casting is fabulous.  Ulrich Thomsen is fantastic as Kai Proctor...the fallen-away Amish man banished from their society.

Even Anthony Ruivivar as the son and heir to the Indian Nation as Alex Longshadow...another part of his personality shows up tonight.

Highly recommend Banshee.  Friday 10PM for the newest episode...and they repeat it multiple times over the weekend.

You must try and get by her annoying voice and gestures...but it would of course help, if you've seen some episodes.

The show is really getting interesting.  The characters are developing.  It seems the new Indian Chief is a ninja just like his sister.

I believe he simply keeps his position as sheriff...until that son appears again.  LOL!

Tonight's episode was terrific!

Lucas and the deputy...Happy Valentine's Day!

Carrie Hopewell is staying in a hotel room while Gordon is getting lap dances and zoning out.  Happy Valentine's Day!

The dead sheriff's son gets a complete 2nd chance...new identity, only to have a Michael Strahan look-a-like bad a$$ come knocking for $60K.  If only he'd listened.  LOL!

Lot's of action....a couple of surprises...this series ROCKS!

Actual segment that appears in "Armies of One" on 2/14/14.....begins at 1:26 seconds.

It plays while the insane sociopath is cleaning up the motel room.

It's beautiful.

Really good story line tonight....Jason goes through the meat grinder...and Lucas declares a personal war against not only Proctor, but Rebecca....who Lucas has slept with on several occasions.

Carrie's asthmatic son needs very expensive treatments that insurance won't cover...so the action starts.

Is anybody else on the forum watching Banshee?  Or, am I the only one?

If you get Cinemax, you should catch up with On Demand.   It's one of the best on television/cable, period.
