I'm going against the grain.
I proffer before all members of this forum that the Constitution, as it exists today, is one of the prime reasons America is slouching towards Gomorrah.
It remains too deferential to those here who seek to destroy America, and overly protects those who will in time use its very "protections" against us. There is enough "power" granted "to them" in the Constitution (again, as it exists now) to make dhimmis of us, someday. Look at what's going on in New York City TODAY.
However, I don't see a "new Constitutional Convention" (alone) as the solution.
Rather, we need a new "Continental Congress" of the red/purple states (notice I EXCLUDE the blue states) to gather and discuss a future for North America and the white Christians of Euro descent who built the place.
I'll freely state that it looks like the "United States" as it currently exists is obviously no longer "united", and that the future here (at least for the Euro-Christians) involves "something else". Can't say what, as yet...
The problems with the Constitution (today) could not have been foreseen by the Founders. They are mostly omissions and oversights.
For example:
"Natural born citizen": what does that mean?
For example:
Voting: it was an error to leave this to the states. Who among them could have envisioned "ranked-choice voting"? Could they have even understood what that means? (Do you?)
For example:
Citizenship: who should be a citizen (as in "birthright" citizenship, I sense the Supreme Court may take a hike on this one)?
For example:
Age limits to goverment officials. Do we need 90 year old Senators or judges?
If you want to fix the country, you're going to have to fix the Constitution.
No way around that.
Otherwise, we may be hitched to a status quo that is going to take us right over the cliff...
