I'll assume this conversation is over. Thanks for demonstrating, once again, why you don't have the first idea of what a forum like this is about.

We discuss ideas and people in the news. We do not direct our ire at other posters.

I agree sink. I saw this 24 hours ago and it still bothers me. I am not the police here, but you took a hell of a cheap shot. A low shot.

And a good evening to you, too.

This kind of stuff is why this forum loses posters and doesn't gain any new ones.  You disagree with me, so I'm "nasty."

I deserve whatever comes to me because you disagree with me.

Evangelicals are who they are.  They never agreed or claimed to blindly vote lockstep for every GOP candidate.

I think the more relevant statement would be to say that if Republicans are willing to give an election to Barack Obama by nominating a candidate who is anathema to conservative Christians, then THEY are as dumb as I have always maintained they are.

If catering to bigots is what it takes to win elections, then I'm glad to belong to a party that doesn't do that.

Yeah.  No idea what massadvj meant there, but if it's how I read it, he and his ilk should just leave the GOP and be on the permanent fringe of US politics.

The crap that your ilk posts here has driven off more posters than you can imagine.  Some of the best ones at that.

Seriously, you establishment pukes ought to just go post at the RNC or Karl Rove's facebook page.

I doubt that.

In any case, it's a fact that the Tea Party can't win elections. We've seen that in the Senate primaries in 2014, where NOT A SINGLE Tea party candidate prevailed.  Not one.

Together, the Tea Party and the conservatives in the GOP can win elections, as we saw on November 4th. YOU are the one who's out of step with the Republican party. Maybe you want it that way.

You should redirect your anger to Democrats, as I do. It would be more productive, all around.

Why do you see people who also want to defeat Obama and the Dems as the enemy?  Seriously, it's getting old.  You and your ilk smear and slime me and others as "GOPe," yet when we react, it's our fault?

No problem, by the way.  I'll leave the board if my firm belief that Obama must be stopped by the GOP is really that unpopular here.

Board, what say you?

Quote
"(O)ur civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions any more than our opinions in physics or geometry,

That therefore the proscribing any citizen as unworthy the public confidence, by laying upon him an incapacity of being called to offices of trust and emolument, unless he profess or renounce this or that religious opinion, is depriving him injuriously of those privileges and advantages, to which, in common with his fellow citizens, he has a natural right,

That it tends only to corrupt the principles of that very Religion it is meant to encourage, by bribing with a monopoly of worldly honours and emoluments those who will externally profess and conform to it." - Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, precursor to the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

As citizens, we should spend as much time and energy trying to live our lives in accordance with the principles of the nation's Founding documents as we do demanding that those whom we elect to govern defend them.

It is highly hypocritical to do anything other than that.

No, it's temper tantrum time for those who lost the 2014 primaries.  I'm sure it will be over soon.

You and your liberal ilk are no better.  Those of us who are actually conservative know your goal is to drive anyone who is not moving to the left like the GOPe.
