When my kids were younger, we instituted "no electronics Sunday".  They could read a book on a Kindle or watch TV, but couldn't play video games of any sort and we didn't have a fancy video streaming phone plan, so that wasn't an option either.

I'm thinking of reinstituting that concept for Sunday Family Dinner Night now.

Or be culturally enriched.  Side note:  I kept Mrs. Liberty from stepping in front of a bus in front of the White House on our Honeymoon.

Hard to find anyone without their eyes glued to a phone, whether at a restaurant, waiting room, or just about anywhere. I guess that's you can't find a magazine in so many waiting rooms. It started with Covid, of course - we all were going to die if we picked up a magazine someone else had handled, you know - but now they probably just figure everyone will be scrolling on the phone anyway. No need to keep that 2-1/2 year old People magazine around.

I had a medical appointment the other day and knew I'd be sitting around for a while, so I took a book with me. :read:
