On the prevention side, Trump needs to ass-kick the Department of the Interior and EPA envirocrats into clearing brush in national forests and drop a "hint" to California Department of Forestry along the lines of, "Nice Federal $$$ you get. It'd be a shame if you lost it for not clearing brush in state parks and forests!"
As stupidly as the City and County of LA mismangled water and firefighting resources in Pacific Palisades, that 360 acre-foot (17M gallons, rounded upward) reservoir
* that was empty and however many fire engines LAFD manglement declined to send there would have been overwhelmed by the brush-fueled wildfire and a week or so of 40-80 mph Santa Ana winds.
* Were this reservoir on this list of ~1300 named reservoirs in California,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dams_and_reservoirs_in_California , it would be among the smallest 5%, maybe one of the smallest 2% or 3%.
