An Open Letter To Sen. Joe Manchin: It’s Time To Change Parties

I&I Editorial

Last week’s Senate runoff elections in Georgia gave the Democrats full control of the federal governing apparatus. America is now a one-party state, and the Californication of the country will soon begin. But there’s one man who can slow it down if not stop it, at least for a while: Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin.

The West Virginian could erase the Democrats’ de facto Senate majority (the Democratic vice president is the tie-breaker in the 50-50 chamber) simply by changing parties. This is no radical suggestion. Manchin is the most conservative Democrat in the Senate, if not all of Washington, and the possibility of him flipping parties has come up before. But he remains a Democrat, and as recently as last week said he had no intention to switch.

However, we would like to make a formal pitch, inviting him to follow an honorable path taken by others. Here is our open letter to the senator.

Ehhhhhh... Frankly I feel safer keeping him as a Dem. Harder to primary him then for him to win in the general election as a Republican.

If he votes to impeach Trump, he will be finished in West Virginia.  And yes, he has been a loyal Dem with a few exceptions mixed in to make him appear nonbiased and having an ounce of conservatism in him.  But he is a double talker.

I watched him last night and I was not impressed.  He actually is hopeful of the Congress returning to being non partisan.  I do not see that happening with the blood dripping from the fangs of the Democommies.

Their wanderlust for the severed head of Trump as depicted in that idiot comedian's video is consuming them.  She even resurfaced BECAUSE her video demonstrated PRECISELY what they want, what they have always wanted.

"...America is now a one-party state..."

LOL. This made me chuckle. As if the last time this was the case was eons ago.
"I’d like to begin by addressing the heinous attack on the United States Capitol. Like all Americans I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem...

To demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol: you have defiled the seat of American democracy. To those who engage in the acts of violence and destruction: you do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law: you will pay." - President Donald J. Trump, January 7th, 2021

Manchin will never switch parties. Being Democrat is in his blood. When he entered public life (on the coattails and name recognition of his corrupt uncle A. James Manchin), the Democrats controlled everything in W.Va. Joe now is at least 73 and that old dog won't learn any tricks at all. Even though W.Va. has voted R for president since 2000 and finally put a Republican majority in the state legislature a few years back, that doesn't mean voters still don't go for the ol' union-loving, gubmint benefits-promising Dems, especially those who were on the WVU football team for a couple of minutes, like Joe.

We have yet to find a conservative candidate who can challenge him effectively and get statewide attention.

Joe doesn't really stand for anything. He's stupid and probably an alcoholic. He does what he's told. These occasional "breaks" with the party are all theatre. The calls for him to switch to the GOP are nonsense.
