Does he keep pulling his pants up in an effort to make his junk appear larger?

Note, Cruz was not going to take a controversial stance on the budget.

What's the difference between a patriotic champion of the Constitution, and a dirty stinking RINO?  One re-election.

Don't worry about it.  Ted's seat is safe and he already knows exactly how to campaign, thanks.

I wouldn't assume that, nor would I assume any GOP seat is safe, and I think that's exactly the point that Cruz was trying to hit home.

Very valid points @IsailedawayfromFR My Point is/was that IMHO Ted was the Best Guy up there and actually had as much if not more Campaign experience (Yes, in Texas) than DJT and still got beat in spite of the fact that the President kept shooting himself in the Foot!

Cruz got beat by a bunch of lies and some outright slanderous crap via Trump in the National Enquirer.

Yes Ted lost on the mudslinging because Trump appealed to the most base childish levels of people voting...he let them release their inner bully.

But Trump is a rank amateur when it comes to actually knowing politics and Conservatism and doing the hands on part of trying to wrest this country from the grip of the progressive cancer.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

I wasn't thrilled about Cruz voting for higher spending.
This is the 2nd time he has, if I recall correctly, when military spending was in the same bill, that he has voted for budget increases.
I can't fault the increase in military spending, but cuts still need need to be made.

Also, this bill had the storm relief tied to it.
Can you imagine the beating he would take from the local (especially democrat) press here if he voted against that?

As a conservative, he's done better than others, but I still want to see spending cut, some where, some how.
I voted for him, in the primaries and in his senate race.

Didn't he get raked over the coals for voting against the initial Hurricane Sandy relief bill because of the pork that was in it?

I concede Trump played dirty. I thought his disrespect of McCain as a veteran, and his stuff on Cruz was bad.

A also feel Trump was the only candidate that would defeat H. Clinton.

Trump can say stuff in 10 words, that Cruz takes 100 words to say. (conservatives love Cruz long lectures, but most voters turn off that stuff--and you need those votes)

And we are now enjoying what some are saying is the most conservative administration in decades.

@truth_seeker, if Trump continues to increase spending, gives 1.8 million + their families citizenship (which even 0bama didn't do) and gets federal family leave passed, that sort of blows away conservative credentials.  I hope that doesn't happen.

Tax cuts=conservative
Defense rebuilding =conservative
Citizenship in 12 years, same as being in line. Curtailing chain migration, curtailing lottery and wall are a good thing.

One needs to consider what the alternatives were. That old binary bugaboo.

If I was a big Cruz supporter, I would write him and encourage him to modify his communication style, to have broader reach and appeal.

Study persuasion. IOW NOT preaching to the choir, but ADDING to the choir

Well, I wasn't try to be persuasive or not, as I'm more interested in truth-telling.   And, I thought the binary bugaboo was "vote for Trump or you're voting for Hillary".

Of course Trump played dirty; he was despicable at times.  Cruz is very articulate and extremely intelligent; I don't see him as lecturing but enlightening.  As for being able to defeat Hillary; there were only 3 candidates that would have lost to her; Graham, Kasich and Jeb!.

Considering that Bammy, Bush Jr.  and Clinton were pretty liberal, it's not saying much that we are seeing a more conservative administration. Actually, I think it is much too early to make any declarations and I anticipate that his shred of conservatism will change if the GOP loses the majority and will certainly disappear during his second term, if re-elected. Also, that theory will be blown to dust if he doesn't build the wall, start mass deportations and grants millions amnesty.
