Oh for Pete's sake Frank, how quickly you forget (and comparing him to Kasich is asinine):

Really? So my papers are lying to me and we have President Cruz because he did so awesome in Idaho? Oh yeah. Cruz failed miserably to beat Trump. He was so desperate to manufacture a win that he announced a damn VP even before he was close to winning the nomination. Can anyone show me when that pathetic shit ever happened? Never.

I like Cruz......as a Senator. He doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell at winning national office. Know how I can say that with certainty? Because I have a whole Primary season to see how he did jack shit when given the opportunity to go against what he considered a total loser.

He only won 10 states and a couple of them was using archaic delegate rules.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
:facepalm2:

On this, I heartily agree!

If he had been the GOP candidate, we'd have President Hillary....

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

You're right, Frank.

Mr. Cruz is an effective senator, and would make an excellent Senate Majority Leader.

But... as smart a guy as he is.... I'll make a "Fishrrman fearless prediction":
Ted Cruz will never become president.

Comparing Mr. Cruz' "natural born citizenship" issues vis-a-vis obama, would be like comparing the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon to the REAL one.

The democrat-communists would jump on this, and the media would hook up the million-watt amplifiers to scream out the message.

President Cruz?
Ain't gonna happen.

It goes even beyond the technicalities of his eligibility. He does not translate well with the general voting public. Great ideas sold poorly go nowhere. He is wooden, bland and uninspiring on the stump. He isn't the type of guy you would want to go to a bar with. He is the stereotype of a political candidate from 20 or 30 years ago.

It's a different political world out there. He hasn't made the transition.

Archaic delegate rules?  LMAO ... you mean the rules that Trump didn't know about ... or better yet ... how about there wasn't a roll call vote allowed at the convention? Go back and read Frank and do some research; he did a lot and he's done a lot.  If it weren't for Cruz announcing that he was voting for Trump, Trump would have lost.  In spit of all the ugly nastiness that Trump slung at Cruz, Cruz is doing what is right for the country instead of holding a grudge.  Trump owes that man an apology ... of course we know too well, that, that is not in Trump's character.

Curious though as to why you continue to bash Cruz?  He lost to Trump.  He continues to do a great job as Senator and he  continues to support Trump, so what's your deal?

That is top grade bullshit. Cruz's endorsement was about as important as any other endorsement.......100% worthless. Trump got no bump from that and he didn't need it as it turns out. As a matter of fact Cruz got hurt pretty bad playing that child's game at the convention. He had to give that 11th hour endorsement to get on the winning side before it was too late.

Cruz endorsed at the end of Sept. Show me where it made any difference at all in the polling in early October....

Never say never.  'They' also said Cruz would never make it into the Senate.  So ... who do you think would make a good President?  Kasich?  Rubio?  I could go on with a list of GOP establishment candidates that would take us back to the left and wipe out the accomplishments that Trump has made so far. Like him or not, Cruz's agenda and ideology is very similar to Trump's,  so ... if Cruz doesn't run in 2020 ... who does the GOP have?  Pence?  Sessions?  Ryan?  Nope ... I 'm not looking forward to having to choose between a liberal and a leftist. Frankly, looking ahead to 2020 is concerning; especially since historically the opposite party wins ... God help us!

Hang it up Frank. Cruz did Trump a favor...and he's still supporting him.

8bs8   The 'Jelly Doughnut Boy' is delusional!   :silly:

It's probably something he tells himself to make him feel better about his dismal JAR while governor
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Dammit, Frank, I can't think of anyone I have run into in a bar I would want to be President--most of them would be pretty scary in the dogcatcher job.

Other than using flaky delegate games, can you showed me a state Ted carried in the Primary that wasn't solid red? Cruz is a dud and wet dream for the Right just like Warren is for the Left. Both will never win shit outside of their protected political zones because they don't translate to the general public.

For Christs sake Cruz barely beat Kasich by a point in PA. That's pathetic.
