Rush also said that the only thing that happened with Heidi Cruz was someone yelling "Goldman Sachs" over and over again.

Rush endorsed Cruz; are we to see another conservative drubbed; as Ted is the only authentic conservative there is?

And Rush has some sense to his article, if Trump loses, Cruz will look so much better, "Only Ted Cruz was telling us about Trump, we should have listened".

Knock it off. Rush endorsed no one, but clearly favored Trump all primary long.

He did say, however, that if one is a conservative one would have to support Cruz. He did not include himself in that category, which surprised me.

Yet you've said many times Cruz was your first choice. Strange, no?

As far as I am concerned Rush, Hannity, and other AM conservative talk are responsible for the Trump debacle.

A year ago, they could have easily squelched the credibility of this Trojan Horse charlatan, but instead played cute, and now the Orange disease is now terminal in nature.

Rush: Caller from San Antonio is saying, if Trump didn't enter, we'd probably have had nominee Jeb Bush.

Rush: Caller from San Antonio is saying, if Trump didn't enter, we'd probably have had nominee Jeb Bush.
So the caller is implying that Trump stole the Jeb Bush vote?

Hmmmmmmm.

Could be.

No, we probably would have had Walker or one of the other good, conservative contenders. Nobody liked Bush from the start.  However, even if he had been the candidate, I would have voted for him because I live in Florida and he was a good governor here (and more conservative than his brother).  He was very good on the economy.

I didn't like Cruz at all, although I would have voted for him. And I think Trump's set-up of him for this convention speech was probably one of the ugliest things the Orange One has done. Cruz had to be persuaded to speak at all, and told Trump it wouldn't be an endorsement but a speech on conservative and GOP principles. Furthermore, Trump read Cruz' speech in advance and approved it.

The whole booing and grand entrance by Trump was clearly set up in advance and it was utterly disgusting.
It was meant to humiliate Cruz and use the mob to threaten anyone who didn't support Trump.  I hope Cruz remains firm, because as little as I liked him, he may be the last hope of sanity.

I'm much more supportive of Cruz than is Goldberg, but he nails the essence of Trump with that last paragraph.

This is not going to end well for the Republican Party.  Levin has been saying for weeks they've become the modern Whigs; that they're irrelevant.  They're worse, now - they've shown themselves groupies and cultists in search of a hero to worship.

They've found him; and when the man becomes a myth, the myth disintegrates as the man is shown to be what he is.  ESPECIALLY such a shallow, flawed hero as Lord Donnie.

When the false god is revealed as an idol, the idolators scatter.  But principles prevail.  I think it's really time that some movers and shakers put together an American Principles party - based, not on expediencies, not on trying to wrest control of spending from the Democrats, not on hero-worship, but on the enduring, revolutionary principles this nation was founded on.

And God loved Lucifer at one point in time too...what's your point?

I don't know you, but your reply made you my hero.  Talk about clarity in a single sentence.  I'm awed.

Until Trump called him "Lyin' Ted". Until Trump said Ted's wife was ugly. Until Trump accused Ted's father of being part of the Kennedy assassination conspiracy.

The fact the Trump faithful and the GOP continue to demonstrate hatred toward Cruz and Conservatives who will not vote for Trump, while giving Hillary a pass - tells you everything you need to know about what is actually going on.

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Remember the thread posted the other day titled - Glenn Beck: If Ted Cruz Endorses Trump There Is No One in Washington I Can Trust Anymore.

Well Glenn, there is still one.   Still one Principled politician who's would kick somebody's ass for insulting his wife, who will turn the other cheek when day after day is called a liar by a liar.    Who will give the establishment the finger without being concerned about what it may do to his long term political aspirations. Still one who gladly states he is not part of the GOPE.

I will write-In that one Principled politician on my ballot form.  I'm voting for TED.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the rules changes voted on in this convention gave more power to the RNC vs those at the grass roots level.

So yes, we are the enemies to the power structure, not the Dems.

I could never respect, let alone vote for, a man who would not defend his wife and family. Anybody who would expect Cruz to endorse and defend Trump after what he's done is an idiot. There was a time when people would have duels because one person insulted another man's  wife.

Yeah, Trump's words are not kind, cheating is not kind either.

So, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michael Reagan, etc. many Conservatives, Jeff Sessions, support a despicable man. Alright.

Low class thugs.

They blindly follow their leader's example. Trump gained all kinds of attention and support by being a crude low class thug. Anybody who attacks another man's wife because they don't agree with him is not a real man, he's a coward.
