DEVELOPING ...

The ATF is shelving a controversial proposal to ban a popular type of bullet, amid opposition from hundreds of congressional lawmakers.

The ATF said in a statement on Tuesday they would not seek to issue final guidelines "at this time."

Absolutely!  They are not giving up - this is just a "cease-fire" so they can regroup and reload.

"AT all" is what it should say.  Bi-partisan congressional opposition will kill just about anything.  Even the FCC Internet regulation scheme is being pulled back because prominent supporters (like Netflix) are now against it.

Rep. David McKinley (R-WV) posted this on Facebook:

You spoke, and the government was forced to listen - the ATF is putting off its plan to regulate M855 ammo *indefinitely* http://1.usa.gov/1wq9KqB

This is a textbook example of the Obama Administration overreaching by using unrelated laws to try to ban this popular ammo. Thankfully, the people spoke up, pushed back, and the ATF relented.
