The State of Defense 2024
DEFENSE ONE STAFF | APRIL 8, 2024
PENTAGON ARMY NAVY AIR FORCE MARINE CORPS SPACE FORCE

The Pentagon is pressing ahead with new tech and new tactics in 2024, many inspired by the conflicts in Ukraine, the Red Sea, and elsewhere. It's also working hard to boost production of existing weapons and figure out just how it would wage a major conflict in the Pacific. But progress has been hindered by the budgetary chaos in Congress, where debate is just beginning on next year's spending plan.

Defense One is proud to present State of Defense 2024, a service-by-service look at how the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force are modernizing and positioning for the year ahead. Read:

State of the Army by Sam Skove
State of the Navy by Bradley Peniston
State of the Air Force by Audrey Decker
State of the Marine Corps by Sam Skove
State of the Space Force by Audrey Decker
And watch our interviews with the services' top leaders:

Gen. Randy George, Army Chief of Staff
Adm. Lisa Franchetti, Chief of Naval Operations
Gen. David Allvin, Chief of Staff of the Air Force
Gen. Christopher Mahoney, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps
Gen. Chance Saltzman, Chief of Space Operations
The entire package of video interviews with service leaders, outside experts, and more is available at State of Defense 2024 event page.

The countries with the most anti gay laws are the least free countries in the world. Countries with open gays are the best and freest countries to live in the world. When they have anti gay laws they usually have similar laws towards freedom of speech, association etc

For instance Uganda. The country that jails gays for life. Unless they have changed it, anything you post on social media about the gov't needs pre approved or up to 5-7 years in prison.

You cannot take a photo of a politician out in public without their approval or 5 years in prison.

But hey no da gaz in your hood in this no gay Christian utopia

Chinonso, 34, said with Anthony by her side at their home in Rieti, north of Rome. In Nigeria, “if you’re lucky you end up prison. If you’re not lucky, they kill you,” she said.

I guess they haven't been keeping track of things in Eurabia.  It won't be long and they won't have to worry about prisons.  They'll be flying from roof tops.  Where do they go next?  Right here which will set up a showdown between freedom and Islam for the world.

I've been a pseudo-met for close to 50 years, and I always refer to one example of who was among the best of all at climatology......

Dr. William Gray of Colorada State was renown for his devekopment of tools for tropical weather predicition at the macro level.  He also probably knew more of how the atmosphere, weather patterns, and how other earth science impacted weather on earth than anyone else.

His periodic forecasts were the benchmark of what was expected each hurricane season.  But, when he shunned the climate scam, the MSM and complicit scammers shunned him back into oblivion.

p.s.

Just saw that Dr. Gray died a month ago, today.  The fact that someone that famous died almost anonymously, speaks volumes.

Thanks for the update. I didn't know Gray he had passed nor did I realize that he had scoffed at climate change.

As countries tighten anti-gay laws, more and more LGBTQ+ migrants seek safety and asylum in Europe
Story by VERONICA ANDREA SAUCHELLI, MARIA GRAZIA MURRU and GIADA ZAMPANO, Associated Press • 11h

RIETI, Italy (AP) — Ella Anthony knew it was time to leave her native Nigeria when she escaped an abusive, forced marriage only to face angry relatives who threatened to turn her in to police because she was gay.

Knowing that she faced a possible prison term since Nigeria criminalizes same-sex relationships, Anthony fled with her partner to Libya in 2014 and then Italy, where they both won asylum. Their claim? That they had a well-founded fear of anti-LGBTQ+ persecution back home. (AP Photo/Alessandra Tarantino)

Since Nigeria criminalizes same-sex relationships, Anthony fled a possible prison term and headed with her partner to Libya in 2014 and then Italy, where they both won asylum. Their claim? That they had a well-founded fear of anti-LGBTQ+ persecution back home.

While many of the hundreds of thousands of migrants who arrive in Italy from Africa and the Mideast are escaping war, conflict and poverty, an increasing number are fleeing possible prison terms and death sentences in their home countries because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, advocates say.

And despite huge obstacles to win asylum on LGBTQ+ grounds, Anthony and her partner, Doris Ezuruike Chinonso. are proof that it can be done, even if the challenges remain significant for so-called “rainbow refugees” like them.

“Certainly life here in Italy isn’t 100% what we want. But let’s say it’s 80% better than in my country,” Chinonso, 34, said with Anthony by her side at their home in Rieti, north of Rome. In Nigeria, “if you’re lucky you end up prison. If you’re not lucky, they kill you,” she said.

Republicans have already located an opening to challenge President Joe Biden’s decision on Thursday to invoke executive privilege in denying Congress access to a recorded interview where he and special counsel Robert Hur discussed how classified documents ended up in the garage of his Delaware home.

Investigative reporter Julie Kelly broke down how a recent case in the D.C. appellate court may warrant charges of hypocrisy by the Democratic incumbent. During a legal battle with attorneys for former President Donald Trump about the return of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, the Biden administration concluded that Trump’s claim of executive privilege over the documents was “not in the best interest of the United States” given the “unique and extraordinary circumstances” around the January 6th, 2021 riots at the Capitol and any relevant communications Trump or his staff may have had. The court sided with Biden, ruling that Trump was not entitled to a preliminary injunction that allowed him to avoid turning J6 documents back over to the U.S. National Archives.

With Joe's dementia he only remember Beau.  The son who was killed by a sniper in Kuwait.
I thought he was shot down flying his Sopwith Camel against the Red Baron over Lichtenstein whilst fighting for the freedom of New Guinea cannibals
