Secret Service officials were aware of ‘classified threat’ 10 days before Butler assassination attempt, failed to tell agents guarding Trump

Senior-level Secret Service officials failed to share “classified threat information” related to President Trump with those assigned to protect him during the Pennsylvania campaign rally where he was nearly assassinated, according to a congressional watchdog report.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) found the classified intelligence had been presented to Secret Service officials a full 10 days before the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, but the agency’s “siloed practice for sharing” sensitive information resulted in few being aware of the threat against Trump’s life.

“[T]he Secret Service had no process to share classified threat information with partners when the information was not considered an imminent threat to life,” read the GAO report, released Saturday by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).  ...

Sorry but Trump promised us transparency during the campaign and now it looks like the same old Deep State shit we've always seen. Hamhanded lies, denial of past statements, being told to ignore a serious problem, being told to accept spending and inflation like usual, etc.

All to convince people like me that maybe it's time to ditch the GOP.

I ditched the GOP long ago.  Yes, Trump did promise transparency and he is the one that stated that he was going to release both the Epstein and Kennedy files.

Patel is getting slaughtered on his Twitter feed for his comment about "conspiracy theories."

Bongino hasn't said a word, which is telling.

I wonder if Trump will give him a call or bring him over to the White House for a one-on-one to calm him down?

They let her in...why did they let her leave?

Should have gone to the hairdresser instead, Deb. It would have been more productive.

Trump certainly knows how to pick competent AG's.  *****rollingeyes*****

“They are essentially packed into cages,” she said.

Golly, Debbie.

Maybe they shouldn't have illegally entered the country and committed crimes, huh? All this could have been avoided.

Fox is reporting that Trump just said "no one cares about Jeffrey Epstein" and calling it a day...

It was Trump who campaigned on releasing the Epstein files... A 180 on short order...

This ⬆️ is a pretty big stretch.  I attended and watched rallies for four years and was privy to many, many focus groups on Trump's campaign messages during the same period.  Epstein was not on the radar ... at all.

The attention this is getting is a new development thanks to Bondi, Patel, and Patel's sidekick, Danny the Thin-Skinned.   I hope Trump is being advised to breakup this clown show.  I'd recommend starting with kicking out Bongino and telling the other two what he expects of them and their working relationship.
