There is a new "stray cat" in the group of stray cats that I feed behind some shopping center dumpsters. The difference is this one is a HUGE black tom that even LOOKS old. He came walking up through the other cats today totally unconcerned about any possible attacks, and started eating.
The CMMFIC out there prior to him showing up is a medium-sized female calico that has been the "boss bitch" for several years now,and I even have to stop her from chasing off the kittens to make sure they get something to eat.
Big Boy shows up today, moves in right beside her to eat,and she raises her head in outrage to run him off,and ends up hauling ass for the woods.
Didn't have a cat carrier or a capture cage with me today, but am going to take one up there tomorrow and see if I can catch him and take him to the vet for a checkup before he is out there long enough to have "gone wild". As big and fat as he is,he HAS to have been a life-long house cat. Maybe one they would let out during the day,but he must have spent most of his time inside the house or he wouldn't be so fat.
He looks like a old cat and even has some faint traces of gray around his whiskers, and I am hoping I can find a home for him with someone over 40 that isn't looking for a kitten. If not,I will just let him loose in my workshop.
