Cat owners are seen as better looking and have more sex, research suggests

Quote

CAT owners are seen as better looking and have more sex, research suggests.

A study found women infected with a parasite commonly caught from moggies had 63 per cent more flings.

They were also slimmer and seen as healthier. Both men and women carrying the bug Toxoplasma gondii were perceived as more attractive.

Scientists believe the tiny parasite subtly alters hosts’ behaviour — possibly through its effects on key hormones – to increase the likelihood of being passed on.

What a great story and video @AllThatJazzZ . Although there must be something wrong with the video...it got all blurry toward the end. :laugh:

@AllThatJazzZ

Your pup is beautiful

@Gefn

I think so, too. And as the world's self-appointed poodle ambassador, I always like to step in and put in a good word for poodles when I see them [rightfully] being ridiculed for their silly hairdos. The wolf/poodle cartoon was hilarious, but it saddens me when people buy into the caricature of the breed rather than the dogness of the breed. Would you believe I used to be one of those people?! :shrug: Then I rescued one and was hooked. Over the years, I've never had a yappy one. Never a hard-headed one. All were easy to train. A verbal leash is all I've ever used with them in the out-of-the-way parks where we walk. Their only downside is their grooming needs. I can live with that. BUT NOT THAT GOOFY DOG SHOW HAIRDO!!!  9999hair out0000

I'll get down off my soapbox now. Thanks for listening. :seeya:

I understand Poodles are among the most intelligent breeds, if not the most.

They are without a doubt. I have been assured by a trainer/breeder friend of mine that a standard is the best guard dog in the world.

Sadly, I can't handle a dog that big any more.

Oh yeah, but the more cats they have may cause a shift to the opposite pole.
So just remember don't over do it or you will shift from sane and sexy to crazy and

This is so cute! Makes me wish I could speak dog so I could explain to him why he can't pick up that bone.

Yes, as GtHawk's list shows, they're second to the border collie. Border collies are extremely bright dogs, but they need to be kept busy with a task or they can develop behavior problems due to boredom. I'd feel sorry for a border collie if it didn't have an owner who understood that.

BTW, GtHawk, why do you question the placement of golden retrievers in that list?

That was in jest, Goldens are goofballs and love bugs always looking for love and affection(and giving) more than any other breed I have interacted with.
