I love your Jack Russell Terrier.  I've had my JRT for 12 years now and it's the best decision I ever made.  The first year was a bit tough though...like coming home from playing tennis to find the dog ate the telephone cable off of the house...lol.  They of course love to jump.  One day mine was in the backyard jumping near the chain link fence....I surmise.  I guess she got her back leg hung in it and came in through the back door doggy door with a broken leg. ...$800 later it was as good as new.  She is the most loving, fun, smart, loyal, entertaining dog, I've ever had.  She's laying by me as I type this.

Regards.......

This is my boy, Jake.  He is 10 now.  This photo is from about 6 years ago.  He's talking to his pal Eddie on TV.

Rocky has kidney failure secondary to the heart failure. He is still eating and drinking but is so frail it is frightening. Bought some special foods today. I am so grateful I am working at home so I don't have to leave him. He has been a loyal friend for over fifteen years. I am praying that God is merciful to him.

Oh... I know far too well.

I am praying that he passes peacefully in his sleep as all good dogs deserve. I have yet to have this happen with Heather, Wren, Merlin, Magic, Scupper, Bryant, or Lily.

My grand daughter, Cassidy, with her "Timmy".

There is nothing as rewarding as feeding horses.  One sings to me as I approach the barn, one dances till I fill her feed her, the third waits patiently like a little lady.

Love 'em all.

Rocky stopped drinking water so I hydrate him with pedialyte mixed with baby food and canned food. The vet put him on Albon to coat his digestive tract and he has rallied a bit- more alert and interactive. I am grateful for every extra day.

Good looking dog.  I used to have a good friend who would drive for miles on weekends going to coon hunting competitions.

When we rescued Wendy, our beloved Cocker Spaniel, from the SPCA in January of 2006 (believed to be 3 years old at the time), she had no energy, couldn't run, and was beset with hair loss and elephantine gray skin.  She also tremored noticeably when drifting off to sleep.  Apparently, none of the vets who'd previously examined her managed to tie all her symptoms together to diagnose the root cause.  When we adopted her on a Saturday, we set about researching those symptoms ourselves and found that everything pointed to an underactive thyroid.  That following Monday, we brought her to the local vet who warned us her symptoms were so varied and advanced, that we may be investing time, money and emotion into a dog that may not be around for long, but we had them run the blood test anyway.  Sure enough, we hit the bullseye.  The vet called me at work and told me we were dead-on with our research, and they'd get her on Soloxine to normalize the hormone output from the thyroid immediately.  Within two weeks, she was running with energy and growing hair again.

And here she is, still going strong at age 13!
