Shocking Admission: Biden Admin Says It Doesn't Have the Authority to Shoot Down Massive Drones Buzzing East Coast

As drones buzz above the East Coast with no real explanation of where they’re coming from, there’s more alarming news out of President Joe Biden’s outgoing administration: They can’t really do anything about them.

In an interview on CNN Friday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that no matter what the intentions of the drones are, his ability to take them out of the sky is very limited.

This is despite the fact that widespread drone sightings over the Northeast have included one over a naval weapons station in New Jersey, among other places, according to ABC News.
 

“While no direct threats to the installation have been identified, we can confirm multiple instances of unidentified drones entering the airspace above Naval Weapons Station Earle,” said Bill Addison, public affairs officer for Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Since these drones obviously didn't fly here from Europe, and there don't seem to be any mother ships off the coast, it seems these are launched from America.  Since the Biden administration either won't, or is reluctant, to shoot them down, I have to wonder if they aren't government issue spying on Americans and flying over military bases as a cover for what they are actually doing,

On Friday, White House spokesdroid John Kirby appeared on Fox News to sing a new tune about the ongoing issue of mysterious drones buzzing about over New Jersey, Maryland, and other East Coast areas. Kirby managed to talk a lot without saying much, which seems to be a requirement to be a spokesman in the Biden administration. What he did say, though, represented a change in course from Thursday.

Fox host Martha MacCallum pushed Kirby on the matter:

Martha MacCallum: "Do you know, and you can't say? Can you tell me that?"

John Kirby: "No, I'm telling you Martha, we don't know, every... we don't know."

MM: "Let me ask you..."

JK "...to corroborate every single sighting. Some of them we have, but not all of them, and we're working hard to do that, we know people are afraid of it, we know people have concerns, we have those same concerns.

“We can’t shoot a drone out of the sky,” the secretary said, exasperated.

“Our authorities are limited by the United States Coast Guard in the maritime environment, the United States Secret Service in its protection of our national leaders, US Customs and Border Protection with respect to the border,” Mayorkas said, enumerating the rolls of red tape DHS needs to navigate before engagement.............

Prove it's a threat, first.  Just getting a bunch of civvie undies in a twist over out of focus videos, many of which appear to be of legitimate aircraft, like helicopters, doesn't prove there's a threat.

Yes, so far, truly no threat seems to be emerging. Though the drones being reported and recorded do appear to be larger than a toy drone. Some are describing them to be as large as a car or an SUV (and yes one pic of a helicopter with other large bright lights). So far an annoyance rather than a threat.

However, our govt' can't be trusted period and Mayorkas IS a liar.

Yeah, I agree with you.  They are trying to panic the people.

My brother the Marine use to work on anti-anti missiles systems on Marine helicopters.  Very, very secretive systems as one never wished to divulge the true nature of our defensive equipment.

I would suggest it still could be a Chinese operation, and a real US military would not wish to tip our hand to the enemy of what our true capability in drone warfare might be if we eliminated one or more.

Having said all that, it is far-fetched to consider our current DOD would pursue such a strategy.  Instead, it is more likely that they are

A. Incompetent
B. Subversive
C. both A&B

“The base remains prepared to respond to any potential risks, leveraging robust security measures and advanced detection capabilities.”

But even with this, Mayorkas said the federal government’s hands are tied.

“Our authorities are very limited,” Mayorkas told Wolf Blitzer.

“We have various authorities that are discreet to their particular missions. We can’t just shoot a drone out of the sky.”
