Rumors that former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump could be getting closer to burying the hatchet since the end of the brutal 2024 Republican primary were shot down almost as soon as they began.

Trump denied this in a Truth Social post just a few hours after it was released, saying Haley “is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well! DJT.”

Haley was reported to be under “active consideration” by Trump to be his vice president. The South Carolina politician has yet to endorse Trump for the presidency since dropping out of the primary in March after losing critical states on Super Tuesday.

It has long been believed that Trump is interested in a female running mate — he had Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), former centrist Democrat turned independent Tulsi Gabbard, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) on his shortlist at one point.

But Haley appeared to have taken herself out of contention, given Trump’s comments before the New Hampshire primary in January, and their combative relationship.

“She is OK, but she is not presidential timber,” Trump said. “And when I say that, that probably means she is not going to be chosen as the vice president.”

I believe his best bet for a VP would be Winsome Sears. She's conservative, well-spoken and she's Black.  I think she'd make one heck of a President as well. Only problem is she was born in Jamaica.

I liked Noem, but the whole shooting Lassie incident is going to haunt her.

Because I feel like it.  After all, this is a forum for discussion and debate.  Secondly, you are putting words in my mouth I never "promised not to vote for DJT under any circumstance", those are your words not mine.

My words are; I cannot and will not vote for Trump.  I have stated a couple of times that if he named Noem as his VP I might give further consideration.

Because of all the crappola that his supporters spew, it only makes me more confident that not voting for Trump is the right decision, so thanks for that.

Adding Bitch Haley, may have been one of the singular issues that would have forced me to vote down ballot only.

I laugh at her hijinks now on pandering South Dakota.  Wish she would do her bit as a Veterinarian Tech.   

Laughing aside, I am guessing she might have a tough time at her next re-election.

never believed this in the first place, sounds like something Nikki herself would have claimed. "Birdbrain", no turning back from that. And Tulsi is even more improbable, look at her stances on healthcare, environmentalism. 2A rights, etc. Not MAGA.
