Interesting how entertainers keep making the same mistakes as the Dixie Chicks. But, yeah, get on stage and alienate half your fans, who just came to the show to forget politics for a while. That'll work.
And like the Dixie Chicks moment, some of the uninitiated will cry freedom of speech. Well, Mellencamp is free to express his viewpoints but the fans are free to use their feet, their volume dial and their $$$ how they see fit.
Springsteen too. yack yack yack...Love the Arron Lewis line:Am I the only one who quit singin' alongEvery time they play a Springsteen song
Can’t. Stand. Springsteen.
I find it interesting that an audience that liked Melonhead objected to the pro-Biteme monologue.
I like what Frank Zappa entitled an instrumental album. "Shut up and Play Your Guitar."
It may be because of his involvement in Farm Aid. Plus many of his songs would lead you to believe that he’s a “good old boy”, salt of the earth.
