Former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party officially kicked off their push to court major donors on Saturday with a high-profile fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida. The event, which included several business moguls, sports team owners and former Trump Administration officials, netted a whopping $50 million for the former president’s re-election campaign, organizers have said.

The “Inaugural Leadership Dinner” at Mar-A-Lago was chaired by billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson, while co-chairs included hedge fund giant Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, oil executive Harold Hamm, hotelier Robert Bigelow and casino mogul Steve Wynn.

The fundraiser, which included an appearance from former First Lady Melania Trump, reportedly hauled in $50 million in total. This would eclipse the total raised by President Biden’s recent New York City event that was co-headlined by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. That event hauled in roughly 26 million and was hailed as a record-setting achievement by the corporate press and the president’s allies.

Don’t discount  the millions of dollars worth of campaign contributions that Biden is going to get from the legacy media

I’m not saying that jokingly or tongue in cheek. I’m serious. There are some in the media who’ve basically hinted that they’re not gonna cover both candidates equally

"Hinted" - no - they are not 'hinting'. Every time Trump speaks about anything, the legacy media groups either boycott him or they cut him off midsentence as soon as he begins talking. CNN is famous for their Trump boycott. Which is one of the reasons they are at record lows in terms of viewers.

Like Trump or Hate Trump, even the Liberals still want to hear what he has to say. Pretending that Trump does not exist is NOT a winning strategy. It is craven cowardly behavior of idiots.

The media used to have people like Tim Russert, who was a Democrat, but was a journalist when he was on air

I recall that reporter from  CNN that went to cover a TEA Party protest and she way over inserted her own opinion and biased into event that she was only sent a report on.

I wish I could find that clip because it was very telling

Once upon a time, in the not too distant past, people believed everything the chosen commentators said. They had complete control.

The limited right wing media, talking heads and most importantly...the internet have changed that acceptance. And at least made people think and try to search for the truth.
