Well, not quite that awesome.  I imagined it would be "snatching the sign with 1 and conducting with the other", but he did indeed have to step down and was not waving.

I couldn't tell if there was any applause.

But, indeed, these jackasses need to be fought.  Good for him.  Imagine, 80 years old, and near the end of your life this is the kind of garbage you have to see happening to your world.  Well, same with my mother.  So upset about the state of our country, and she died knowing how far down it's gone since her youth.
