The GOP needs to roll back election rigging rules, not play along with them
By Michael Bertolone

“We need to have the biggest legal ballot harvesting operation this country has ever seen.” – Lara Trump

Expected incoming RNC co-chair Lara Trump has enthusiastically embraced ballot harvesting, which has been an effective tool for Democrats to engage in shenanigans in furtherance of their election-rigging strategy. However, Lara Trump is extremely naive if she thinks she can outmaneuver the all-time champion of ballot manipulation, the Democrat Party.

It would be as if a novice magician would boast that he could perform sleight-of-hand tricks more proficiently than the all-time master, Harry Houdini. A more effective strategy would be to attack and repeal ballot harvesting, especially in swing states. In addition, efforts should be made to shorten early voting time windows. It may be too late in this election cycle to pass voter ID laws in these crucial states, but it should be attempted where feasible.

Lara and other Republicans favoring ballot harvesting have not considered the perils of pursuing this strategy. The Democrats have shown no reluctance to use lawfare to counter Republican electoral tactics. Local and federal prosecutors, many funded by George Soros, are willing to go after Republicans on the flimsiest of charges and evidence.

What the GOP "needs" to do is irrelevant if it does not have the ability to actually do that.  And the author doesn't explain how the GOP is supposed to roll back those rules when it doesn't have control over that rule/lawmaking process in states where it doesn't control the legislature, governorship, and courts.

So if you lack the political power to roll them back, is letting the Democrats be the only ones to take advantage of those rules the smart play?

Ditto.  Republicans are idiots if they think they can out-Democrat Democrats.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

This plays into the Trumpian myth of a rigged 2020 election.
Except, nothing was rigged. Trump just lost.
If people like the stooge at American Stinker believe they can force the elimination of mail-in ballots etc., they might as well believe they can take three steps and jump on the moon.
The best thing for Republicans to do to win is do what will get them the most votes. Holding your breath to get your way will only turn you purple.

The Founders made a serious mistake by leaving to the States the right to set the ground rules for elections. (Example: what would those hammering out The Constitution have said if you had introduced them to the concept of "ranked choice voting"???)

And their mistake is currently in the process of destroying the integrity of the election system in the country.

Which is why a few years' back I proposed the following:
(I've posted this a few times, but no one ever comments on it... why is that?)
====================
This Constitution prescribes that only citizens may vote in all elections conducted within the United States. This includes elections for federal offices of The United States, elections for State offices in the Several States, and all municipal and local elections conducted within the borders of The United States.

Elections will be conducted only on Election Day as prescribed by this Constitution.

All ballots in all elections will be paper ballots cast by individual voters at their respective polling locations. Electronic means may be used to tabulate vote counts at the local level.

Provisional ballots of any kind are prohibited by this Constitution.

Ranked Choice Voting of any kind is prohibited by this Constitution.

On Election Day votes will be tabulated immediately after the polls close. Tabulation and counting of votes will proceed continuously until a final tally is reached.

There shall be a demand right of registered voters to witness the tabulation and counting of votes. Any attempt to deny such right will be deemed unconstitutional. This right shall not be modified by any Court of the United States. The Several States may however limit the total number of election observers as is practicable for reasons of safety.

An election shall not be considered to be won unless the winning candidate receives a majority of the votes cast. If no candidate receives a majority, a runoff election must be held within 35 days to determine the winner. This shall not apply to the elections for President and Vice President, which are to be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral College, as enumerated in this Constitution.

The use of the United States Mail shall not be permitted for the collection of ballots, with the exception of absentee ballots.

There shall be no use of absentee ballots without the presentation of individual need, subject to strict scrutiny by the registrar of voters.

Absentee ballots must be received by the close of voting on Election Day. Any ballots received via mail after the polls close will be immediately destroyed and will not be entered into the voting tabulation.

All citizens of the United States will be required to produce identification before voting.

All citizens of the United States who desire to vote will be required to register at least six months in advance of election day, unless they have previously done so. All citizens requesting registration will be properly vetted by the registrar of voters.

No person will be registered to vote unless that person has attained his or her twenty-first birthday.

His supporters live in an information desert where Biden did not enjoy a significant lead for a year, and few of them knew about the red mirage.  To this day they act like the late-counted mail in voting was supposed to break 50/50, even with Trump advising his people to vote in person.  Florida has all sorts of people voting by mail … including Trump himself … and yet they act like it’s some type of communist plot.

If Republicans want to make a mockery of Democrats in California, then they need to show up at polling places with truckloads of ballots.  Nothing short of 20 million ballots will do.  They need to submit every single one of those ballots, and then hold Democrats accountable to the laws they placed on the books.  Because no harvested ballot can be refused.

Trump wins California.  Garvey joins the Senate.  And it is all legal in Newson's California.  Go big or go home.  Twenty million ballots.  Doesn't matter if they're legal or not.  Polling places have to accept them.  It's the law.
