Will the Truckers’ Strike Change the Outcome? The Post & Email 2/19/2024
YouTube channel “Route Rethinker” is providing information and updates on a truckers’ strike which apparently began Sunday night at the suggestion of several truckers expressing extreme displeasure at the judgment rendered Friday by New York-based Judge Arthur Engoron against 45th President Donald J. Trump, who is also the leading Republican 2024 presidential primary candidate.
Engoron, who presided after New York Attorney General Letitia James accused Trump and the Trump Organization of inflating property values to obtain more favorable business loans, additionally barred Trump from serving as an executive of any New York-based company for three years; for sons Eric and Don Jr., the same applies for two years.
No such civil penalty has ever been handed down in the history of the nation, let alone the state of New York.
Trump’s legal team has promised to appeal the ruling, which requires the company to post a bond equal to the amount of the penalty.
“For now, the former president can’t appeal the decision just quite yet because the clerk’s office at Engoron’s courthouse still has to file paperwork to make it official,” Fox Business reported Monday.
